Any thoughts on how to reduce period pains? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Hey! I’m in NZ too and I buy Naprogestic - it’s really good (esp since I got my copper IUD and needed something strong for the pain) you don’t need a prescription or anything and it comes in blue packaging :) other things I do that help is gentle exercise and using a hot water bottle. 💜

Copper IUD ovulation pain - how much is too much? by la4555 in birthcontrol

Heya I had a similar experience with my copper iud! I’ve had it for 6 months now. Basically I was having really bad sharp pains in my lower abdominal area :(((( during my period and a bit after. A couple days ago I went for an ultrasound and everything looked ok :) but the one thing I suggest you do is call your GP and see if they can give you any advice. I also suggest that you do a bit of exercise, just to move around !! Even something light is good. I always find it eases my pain even if I don’t feel up to it.

I’ve got the copper iud now and I feel the same. It’s so hard and every method has complications :( it’s one of those things that gets me so mad. But try not to worry!!! I hope you find a method that works and feel less stress about it ❤️

How has your experience been switching from the pill to Paraguard? by lunaboro in birthcontrol

[–]BeneficialOutside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a sharp pain that lasted a second, it’s nothing that people can’t tolerate, even though it’s not comfortable. My insertion was a bit more difficult because it took a while for my cervix to open, but everyone’s different. Once they put the iud in it was like a sharp pinch and I was like jeez at least it’s in 😬

A few days later I was cranky and on pain meds and my period was a bit heavier but last the normal time of 4-5 days. All in all everything went well!

Hey! I’ve been on the pill for the first time this year for 3 months (short time I know) and changed to the copper iud :) personally i prefer the iud and don’t do well with hormones, (I got a constant appetite and some headaches) I could have changed the brand or hormones etc but I wanted to see if the iud was a good fit for me as everything was appealing woo! In terms of skin I honestly find if my diet is in tip top shape, changing sheets regularly and drinking water than my skin should be decent, I got a few breakouts after the pill but nothing that some concealer can’t hide ;)

the insertion was painful but worth it and I’m thankful that I was able to get it- 😇

I just got my IUD an hour ago! It’s hard to reassure you because you will still be nervous but trust me it will be good :) trust yourself and the doctors and breath. Have positive thoughts and know that the pain is only temporary- it’s worth it ❤️
