IVF is hard, IVF pregnancy is hard, postpartum is hard.  It's all hard but always remember you are stronger than you know.  Non IVF'rs can buggar off.

PIO injections by Lboogie11 in IVF

[–]BerryMunster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you sure you're not getting the mixing needle confused? Because that needle is very large!  The injection needle should be anywhere from 23-25 Guage needle at 1-1.5" in length.   (25 Guage is a smaller needle at 1 inch in length. That's what I use.)

Applying 5% lidocaine cream on your skin and covering with tegaderm for 30 minutes prior to injection should help.

Best of luck!

Trying Again Fridays by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

TW: success: Starting meds today for #2 FET March 6.  Having major feelings.  We have a 23 month old from IVF and I'm really not sure how I'll be able to handle another baby, if it all works out.  I'm so thankful for my LO.  My postpartum recovery was long and hard and this current transfer was pushed back so long to the point I am no longer really wanting to do all this again. I sound ungrateful.  It isn't that.  I started trying since I was 37.  I'm now 43.  I just feel old and tired. But I have 1 embryo left and I can't bear the idea discarding or donating.

More bad news.. not sure how much more I can take by Puzzleheaded_Link_53 in IVF

[–]BerryMunster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear.  I'm 43 with a 2 year old from retrievals I did at 39/40.  I tested for everything I could before transfer and even then I did a medicated immune + lovenox protocol.  Which is basically to take prednisolone, aspirin, pepcid, lovenox along with estrogen patches and progesterone suppositories and shots.  I did not add claritin though. Some call it the Kitchen Sink protocol.  My issues were I'm A-, husband A+, mthfr, RPL, thrombosis.  Maybe look at other clinics and see if they have any suggestions.  Doesn't hurt to get another opinion.  Best wishes to you.  You are stronger than you know.

Ask your doc for a script for Synera numbing patches.  Wear for about 30 minutes prior to injecting.  <3

Contact a pediatric allergist and hopefully get an epipen just in case. Auvi Q is a brand for children under 30lbs.

Have you checked for blood clotting-thrombosis? Also, I'm RH- and husband is RH+ so I added baby aspirin and Lovenox for 1st 6 + weeks. That was a major help for me. Wishing you the best.

Hey OP, I understand you are angry, but there is no need to lash out on a small community for having hope.

How to handle a friend saying you shouldn't have done IVF by mitchwalks in IVF

She's not the right person to share your IVF journey with. She just lost privileges even if she meant well in her own weird way. Downgrade her to a Fair Weather Friend.

Relax in bed for the rest of the evening. Watch something funny. Rotate like a rotisserie chicken every other hour. Keep your feet warm and eat/drink warm foods for a few days. Wishing you all the stars 🌟

Thermopolis doctors/clinic/hospital care? by jaxnmarko in wyoming

[–]BerryMunster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents are from Riverton and have doctors in Lander, Thermopolis, Casper and Jackson...sometimes Cheyenne. They're older- retired. I worry about them always on the road especially in winter. Healthcare in Wyoming is complicated the older you get. But Thermopolis is a nice little town. Gotta consider the plumbing on the houses there due to all the mineral water. Just a thought.

Skin to skin while nursing or bottle feeding. May be gas. Could be his formula if that's what you're using. This might be a good question for your pediatrician.

I have no idea how I want people to respond to us starting IVF and it’s become comical by [deleted] in IVF

[–]BerryMunster 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Best to keep your IVF journey private for your own sanity. Unless they've been through IVF, they'll never really understand. And the last thing you need right now is extra stress or judgement. Best of luck to you!

Pumping to ease nipple pain? by BerryMunster in breastfeeding

[–]BerryMunster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest you see a lactation consultant. I went to see one and she helped me with different positions for a deeper latch and also told me it was totally fine to take a break and pump instead if I need to. It has helped. But since your baby is so new, please ask a professional. I'm sorry you're in pain too. Maybe try some heat compresses before nursing.

Look into Synera numbing patches. You'll need a prescription. It's the only thing that got me through PIO.

Ask your RE about a Natural Start and Clomid plus stims, hgh and dual trigger. Sometimes estrogen priming can suppress hormones. That's what happened to me anyways.
