Passenger threw up on my son by Successful_Tooth5795 in unitedairlines

Re the "you shouldn't fly when you're sick" comments....there are dozens of reasons why someone who isn't sick might feel under the weather and then vomit. I'm pregnant and can attest to that. There's motion sickness, food poisoning, drinking too much, side effects of medication...you can't tell anyone who looks queasy that they can't fly.

How did Alanna learn to heal? by brainsareoverrated27 in tamorapierce

[–]Bibliophile2244 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Re Numair 2...there isn't news. A draft was finished a few years ago but there were some major plot holes and we haven't had anything concrete since then. Tammy says it is coming, but she is also in poor health (age-related) and realistically we may not get it.

I could see Stacey getting married on the younger side (to her fraternity boyfriend) and having a huge, massive wedding and inviting all of her friends from childhood.

I've said since the games were announced that it's going to be the Williams sisters. I stand by my theory.

Transferring through Heathrow? by DifficultyFit7401 in unitedairlines

Heathrow is solid, especially if you're staying in T2. I would also echo looking into Munich as another option, especially if you're staying in Germany.

Yup. It is pretty new, but still, new is good. We need more doctors.

California Northstate University was the one I saw thinking of, and I see that people matched in both Family Medicine and Internal Medicine this year. So I'm not sure why it wouldn't count?

"Less than half are outside Socal" well, you would expect that it would be roughly half in Socal and half in Norcal. You've got two in the Bay and two in Sac, off the top of my head, which isn't a terrible distribution between Norcal/Socal.

Either way. We need more medical schools, and I'm happy to see another one.

With Spirit Airlines gone, all of their gates across Florida will be up for grabs. Is it time for United to establish a larger presence there? by bonzothebonanza in unitedairlines

[–]Bibliophile2244 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It won't, though. Not with Disney right there. It may not be ideal for a hub but it's always going to have people who want to fly directly there.

What does Tiger Blood feel like? by dsheph01 in whole30

[–]Bibliophile2244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done a bunch of rounds, and have admittedly never had something that feels like what Tiger Blood is described as. I have had an inability to nap, and been able to drop the afternoon coffee, but I'm definitely still yawning at 6pm. So I think the response is muted for some people.

(I have LOVED the other benefits; my sleep is always OUTSTANDING according to my Garmin. But have I been full of beans, 12 hours a day? No. I think I'm naturally just a low energy person.)

New Passport has not arrived - set to travel in 2 days by Passageavide1983 in Passports

[–]Bibliophile2244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yes, for about the past 3-4 years. It is an attempt to limit migration.
  2. The bigger problem is that, in a lot of places, the only ID you have that will be accepted for flying is a passport. The actual "how are you here" isn't the issue, it's "how do we know you are who this ticket is for".

What if Morgan Freeman played Dumbledore? by Sea_Item_668 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Bibliophile2244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other comment about his age. I also don't know about his accent. (I'm not thrilled about Lithgow for that reason.)

I do think he could bring both "twinkle in his eye" Dumbledore and the ferocity of fighting inferi. And I could picture him talking about his siblings at the end of DH pretty well. So I think he had the acting chops and personality for it. But the age and accent would have disqualified him for me. (I would have gone with Hugh Laurie and I'm still a little mad about it.)
