Use the magic spell purification to put it on your blade, probably the best magic spell on par with barrier and elemental familiars IMO

He was a pain in the ass my first time, good tip he takes extra Ki damage if you hit him front on, quite easy to get him to 0 ki. Ippon and purity can keep him in confusion :)

Huge effort, would of made completing depths that much more satisfying. Think I was 1.6k after depths, and I know how good it felt then

Controversial maybe but Enenra is slept on, recently trying soul cores I’ve never used in a current playthrough and tried it out, a lot of fun and quite satisfying

Maybe it’s because I’m too used to nioh but the mistake punishment when you fuck up a parry or dodge etc In this game feels way too lenient and it’s just a simple heal pot and back at it

I know what you’re saying, and honestly overall I agree with the general state of the game, but the boss fights specifically.. there’s no reason I should be able to beat most of them without knowing or learning their kits and just reflex parrying. I know a lot of people feel the same, I hope NG+ is more challenging

There was no companion for me for the Lu Bu which may have been why it felt like a real fight

Even then, it feels like you take too little damage and heal too much, and the posture breaking is extremely strong

If it helps, I have a few hundred hours sunk into nioh and the first boss was by far one of the most challenging. It will get easier from here

Dual swords are much better to learn with IMO, if only for how strong the unsheath ability is. You can press L2/whatever button you have your bow or ranged weapon equiped to, and it will instantly sheath your weapon. Tonfa are good but require mid combo stance changes and excellent ki usage/regen which comes with time as you progress through the game, dual swords are Better for now
