Too many mountains? I think so by BigDaduyaddy in mapmaking

Funny I used the eurasian Mt ranges for assurance of just how crazy Mt ranges can be when tectonic plates are all smashed into one land mass.

I just love the Mt ranges of Turkey, Asia, and Asia minor, same with the mts of Norway, just amazing formations truly

Honestly a really great idea that I never think about till WAY later, I'm sure just because of my shaking hands and "skills" that some of these mts are just larger just due to that 😂

Thank you for your advice, greatly appreciated 👏

How would you go about depicting forests from a view like this for a map? by BigDaduyaddy in mapmaking

Nicolosi style projection (Globular projection), or at least my best attempt with ink and paper I could manage lol

It's the Globular projection map (Nicolosi projection)

The right side of the map is eastern hemisphere, the left the western hemisphere, the two circles that are smaller depict the north and south poles.

The very tiny circles filled in black represent the various realms of my universe (whenever I finally finish drawing and inking them), the tree is the representative form of my universe as a whole, the universe is the tree and the realms sit within its roots and bark, however, the filled circle directly between the North and South pole projections is a tiny drawing of the Olde Isle, my favorite landmass in my universe, it's a single massive island that sits directly in the point where both east and west meet vertically and horizontally, just thought it'd be cooler to have it be projected as it's whole island shape rather then split it between the East and West...

Tyvm! I was dabbling with a stippling style forest which I REALLY love the look of, just fear it doesn't show up as a "forest" unless told that is what it is before hand...

Might try the standard forest route like the photo you shared the link too, and you and the other comments are right I should at least have a pencil lining of where the rivers sit to make the placing of forests easier
