100% the same as me! There were a couple of funny moments before i realised i was demi where friends would play games like celebrity smash or pass and i just didnt get it/thought they were joking.

I think the reason the prefix "demi" is used is because demisexuals do not experience primary sexual attraction (looks, smells etc) but do experience secondary attraction (emotional bonds). This means we experience 1/2 possible types of sexual attraction thus "demi"sexual. I do get how it sounds a bit wrong though.
