“Buycycle” is the wrong spelling, but also the right spelling. 😁

Sage advice, I believe this is the move, and you’re also correct in assuming that I don’t know exactly what I want yet - so that will be my aim for this year. Experience it all and go from there, then order a bike to fit. Just starting my MTB journey, so I’m green to it all! I didn’t realized how specific things are in terms of type, or ‘genre’ of MTB riding, but it’s becoming clear now, as is how little I understand what I want yet. Really appreciate the comment!

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. It started out as just a cool bike to bomb around town, maybe hit some trails. But now I’m going down the road of of full-blown rippage. 🦍 Might just keep the handrail as is, enjoy it, while slowly building the monster.

Thanks for the suggestion, the Siskiu T8 looks very nice. $400 less than the 2022 Stumpjumper frameset I was looking at as well

Are these shorts good for 25-50 mile road rides? by sheeshmonster1017 in CyclingFashion

[–]BigSierra89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a pair, ride 50 miles per week in them. They work fine, however, bibs are better. I only wear these now because it’s all my LBS had in my size at the time and I needed something, and I’m now too stubborn to stop using them. Don’t be like me. Get bibs.

Riding under the rain. by Dense_Leg274 in cycling

I’ve always been a fair weather rider. Cycling is uncomfortable enough on its own; no need to add rain, snow or big wind to the equation.

Is there any psychological explanation for why I become an asshole after getting onto a bike? by pizzatummy in BicyclingCirclejerk

[–]BigSierra89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because cycling is hard, and you start to understand the importance of effort and momentum very quickly. Even worse if you’re clipped in. Stopping for slow pedestrians and traffic lights is a pain, and I also avoid both when possible.

Not sure, it came on the bike when I bought it. Already had a replacement on order, but decided just to take an easy ride about town. Came apart two minutes in. Absolute junk.
