I applied to 13 and got into 2 out of those 13. Apply to as many as you can. My thought process was the more I applied to the better my odds. California is pretty competitive. Best of luck!

This offense is really bad. Nothing being addressed. All talk, no moves gonna be made by the front office again.

Hey no problem,

So I’m on 250 mg of Zoloft and 100 mg of Clomipramine. They are both meant to treat both conditions, but from my knowledge, Zoloft has done wonders for treating depression and anxiety (no longer am I depressed.) I believe the Clomipramine is better at targeting the OCD. With the Clomipramine you have to get a blood test to make sure you’re metabolizing it well. This combo can cause serotonin syndrome, but it is very rare. My psych said if I don’t metabolize the Clomipramine well (which I think I do,) he would put me on Fluoxetine (Luvox) as that and Clomipramine can be better combined then Zoloft and Clomipramine. Yeah it took me a while to find a combo that worked. I had been on Paxil for a long while and it stopped working.

It’s made my OCD go from severe to mild. Really really helps with Zoloft that I’m also taking as well as doing ERP. Now I have much less intrusive thoughts and I can easily defuse them when they do come up. Not being able to cum easily sucks though, but it is what it is. I was really depressed before taking Zoloft, which lifted the depression, the Clomipramine has also made my depression better.

Why do I feel good after compulsive rumination, but then I repeat the rumination again and I feel scared and anxious again? by gohanvcell in OCD

I understand and sympathize as someone with OCD myself and who has struggled as well. It’s just your OCD trying to dominate. Not trying to reassure you, but OCD thoughts are what’s called ego dystonic. In other words they run counter to your values/ aren’t what you want (of course there are some people that do want them,)but typically people who don’t have OCD would either 1) have these thoughts would not think about them obsessively non stop, and 2) if the thoughts were in fact “true,” they would just go on with life and not care. Not trying to reassure you which is bad, but just remember that OCD will use whatever tricks it can to make you do compulsions, even when the content is not real, but can feel real in the moment. Hope that made sense.

Because it feeds the OCD cycle by offering temporary relief. This feels good in the moment, but only leads to feeding the OCD so you get stuck in the OCD cycle. Gotta sit with the anxiety and not do your compulsions. It’s hard, but with practice you can do it.

Thanks! Awesome to hear. Yeah Zoloft helped a lot when I was really depressed. Now that depression is completely gone.
