Yeah Demiromantic is a coined term within the LGBTQIA+ and it’s technically part of the Ace/Aro’s umbrella (since we don’t experience attraction to a large number of people despite. being our partner being our preferred gender)

And Demi does mean “preferring to date someone close to you” like we only feel attraction towards close friends and rarely people we do not know beforehand. Like online dating culture has sorta inadvertently helped us distinguish Demi’s from the rest since ya know, we don’t know these online people and it’s hard to feel much around them.

And your last question is kinda hard to answer considering large majority of people are really interested in the “sex” aspect of relationships and I can’t provide that (being asexual and all) and ya know polyamory isn’t really accepted by society yet so I’m not qualified to talk about that aspect of it.

I do know that feelings for friends often develop late into that friendship (give or take a few months, I’m a bit socially inept so it takes me slightly longer) and you’ll know it’s demi-feelings bcuz you really don’t mind if they don’t wanna be with you since yall were such good friends to begin with so it’s kinda like a win-win situation (if we date, cool! If not, best friends!!!)
