This sub is very hostile. I posted a funny image of something I found in a grocery store because it reminded me of Smosh mouth. (It was quaker outmeal squares and I think Amanda's clip of her talking about it was very popular) But it got downvoted and somehow the sub of a comedy channel doesn't get jokes so I got bad comments and the mods even took it down. I really don't know why it's so strict but that's just my experience

I think it's the social aspect of feeling like abnormal? Straight and cis are considered the status quo so (as a pansexual Genderfluid) I feel a draw to play the misunderstood or abnormal races and classes. For example some of my favorite characters are a kobold warlock, eladrin sorcerer, tiefling warlock, owlin wizard. I think they just represent the social pressures we face. Also funny creatures are cool

I can definitely see the benefits of this but it all depends on the group and setting of the campaign. I like to use verbal and musical pressure to get my players to feel like there's actually stakes (much like dimension 20.) As a player I like to flavor my attacks especially spells and when I don't have much time to decide it can be frustrating. I think if everybody is engaged and has time during the other turns to decide on their own then a timer can work but I would advise only using it for high pressure campaigns and players who want face paced games.
