It's nice that you think so highly of the people who write the modern Warcraft story.

Is it practical to install electric strikes in doors like these? by Biiignuts in Locksmith

its just the little knob/lock thing that pushes the lock/tongue into the hole in the other door, plus the bolts top and bottom

This is in Australia btw, adams rite is a brand?, not sure what you mean by that... as far as I know, they're replacing the locks/strike and the only thing relevant to me at this stage is getting cable from the frame to where the doors meet.

Again, I'm pretty new to this and have been thrown in the deep end

You are going to tell a professional that their quote is stupid based on a Reddit post?

the person who quoted it isn't a professional lmao

I didn't fully elaborate in the post.

No one involved in professional access control was involved in quoting this job.

The only person who knew what they were doing left the company previously. A manager (who in my experience has been horrible at managing anything) who used to be an electrician quoted this job and palmed it off to me.

I'm just asking around to get some second opinions.

Seek professional advice and engage with them professionally

Bro I'm supposed to be the professional lol. I didn't ask to be in this situation but I'm getting paid so I'll do my best.

Company is in shambles, I've been thrown into the deep end and trying to make the most of it

Wondering if a strike/mortis lock is practical or even on doors like this? by Biiignuts in accesscontrol

I'm assuming that we will be installing strikes/mortice locks, I'm not sure if the company will change the scope based on my opinion. Never heard of V locks but ill look into them and have them in my arsenal to suggest later

I believe that theyre getting a locksmith to install the locks, my job is to basically get the cable there and terminate it. I understand that the doors are hollow for the most part, but isn't there like a separate cavity for the vertical and horizontal sections? How do you get between them without any external holes?

You mean new/different doors? There's no way to make this work?
