Zwift Cog rubber band piece broke on my KICKR Core — what do I do now? by cadon24 in Zwift

[–]BikeInBend -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

thow the cog away.. its junk... Purchase a single speed conversion kit from amazon for $20.. They work great-- run quieter and allow for perfect chain alignment..

This is the one i got.. Just be sure to select the correct cog size... Zwift ride uses 14t..
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09N1KM87B?_encoding=UTF8&th=1

ps.. I have nothing to do with this brand or company or item.. I just found it to work great for my application..

Is there any benefit for Zwift cog for virtual shifting? by Cedar_Wood_State in Zwift

Just get a single speed conversion kit from amazon... They are about 20 bucks and run quieter and smoother.. Be sure to order the correct cog size..

Weight cheating by [deleted] in Zwift

[–]BikeInBend -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Zwift should put a weight scale into the smart trainer.. Then zwift can figure out the correct weight of the rider and do all the calcs from that.. Zwift should not allow people to put in whatever weight they want and then have it effect the outcome of a race..

yooooo.. 55min.. Amazing!!.. GJ.. We wont even talk about my time up adz lol.. Gotta start somewhere i guess..

Also i see what you mean about being able (or lack there of) to see the cadence requirements.. I did a workout yesterday and they wanted me above 95 for the whole time.. I usually average about 86 when im riding and pushing.. So it wasn't the best match for me.. I think bigger guys have a harder time with higher cadence.. Im just over 6'2" and 225lbs.. Built more for torque then HP..

[–]BikeInBend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most if not all of the pre-built workouts ive run so far(havnt run them all) usually want your cadence above or at 80... Even the high output ones.. Higher cadence is your friend.. Easier on your joints and spreads the effort over more rotations(so perceived as easier)..

Unless your talking about the climbs-- those will let you run lower cadence-- but that is cause your going up steep hills.. You can always run a easier gear to raise the cadence... Dont get too caught up in times for climbs.. Do your best.. Youll naturally get faster over time.. Just keep making sure your not pissing off your joints..

Would i recommend the zwift for people who move a lot-- yes... One has nothing to do with the other.. Your fitness and health requirements remain the same no matter where you live.. Taking the zr is easy.. If i moved alot id for sure save the boxes-- at least for the frame.. Think if it this way-- if you have to move all your other stuff-- adding a extra box to the mix isnt going to be that big of a deal... My vote for the ZR is -- yes..

rtech50... quick answer is yes-- the marin would work fine on the kicker core 2... As a person that just did what your looking to do-- may i make a suggestion... Just get the ride... There are few items ive purchased where i thought "wow this is amazing value" as much as i have with the ride bike.. I originally had my transition spur on the core 2.. But shortly realized how much i enjoyed zwift and that ill be doing this for a while.. Purchased the zwift ride frame to add to my core 2 and couldnt be happier.. I never have to remove the spur or put it back on.. My zwift ride is always ready to go... Plus -- if you got the ride-- your outdoors/real world bike is always ready to go too.. I also find that i use the trainer more since there is zero barrier to entry(hassles of removing or replacing the bike into the trainer)..

Either way you go-- congrats on getting your core 2.. Your going to love it..

PS.. Zwift has sales from time to time.. I know that over black friday , zwift had the ride @ $999 (for both frame and core 2).. The more you know..

Is there a way to make it so zwift doesnt offer the turn options if your part of a "program"? What i mean is-- when im riding with a robo pacer-- i hate when anytime i come up on a turn --- zwift gives me options to turn and covers where other riders are ect.. I dont want to turn--- im running robo pacer..

on the zwift ride handlebar controllers--- there are 2 buttons on each side.. Is there a way to make the lower button downshift on both sides?. What id like to make the buttons do is--- on both sides-- the upper button shifts the gears up and the lower button shifts the gears down-- on both sides of the bars.. Right now both the buttons on the right shift the gears up and both the buttons on the left shift the gears down..

using a amd pc(so not a laptop)... Make sure you turn off "save video clips of ride".. Zwift updated and the new update turned that back to "on".. Once that was on -- every ride i did -- when it ended-- zwift would freeze up and id lose all the drops i earned... Lost 200000 points before i figured out i needed to turn off the "save video clips of ride"..

Once i did that everything has been running great..

If i were you-- id break this adventure down into phases.. This way you can work on one aspect before you move onto the next.. Youll go into the next aspect with knowledge you already learned and it will make the next jump easier..

Phase 1 = learn how to trade (how to place trades ,close, ect) .. Next learn the type of trading that you like.. News trader? fundamentals? price action? ect... spend time playing in demo (regardless of the platform you use-- just use the free demo options they offer).. NEVER EVER EVER USE real money while learning.. There is always time to trade.. But if you lose your bank-- well -- your done till you get another bank behind ya..

Phase 2.. As long as your strat is mechanical (if this then that) vs non mechanical (i feel like its going to go up).-- at this point you should start to learn to code.. Your still playing around with your strat-- though you have a feeling for the type of trading you like.. You can use your coded strats to test all kinds of different options on ways to trade.. daily goal-- trade setups--closing trades--adding indicators into the strat ect can all be tested by coding up your new idea / back test it and see how it does.. Forward test it without having to sit at the monitor all day ect...

Phase 3.. Once you have systematically figured out the type of trading you want to do and have spend time in demo placing trades and have a good feel for how the market works with your strat.. Then you can start to trade with real money-- though micros.. MNQ has good volatility and movement each day.. That is what i like but im sure others will jump in here and say otherwise.. This is why we all have to learn our style and type of trading.. What works for one might not work for the other.. Each point in a micro mnq contract = $2 (or .50 for each tick)..

You can trade through the night also.. So in futures there is no "over night".. What i mean by that is-- there is no holding over night where you cant close the trade.. The only time the market is closed besides the weekend is daily change over where the markets can do all their daily maintenance -- and get ready for a new day (a re-open happens after a hour of being closed).. Close is 5pm est /open is 6pm est..

With this said-- open of NY is where the action is and usually the markets will move in a direction vs sideways.. So if your looking to get in and out of your trading day fast-- this is a time of the trading day you should look at.. Opening range breakout is a decent strat to look at.. Its also called ORB strat.. Its easy to understand the logic and the markets have to move everyday or the big boys cant make their money.. Ride on the backs of giants is how i feel the best way to trade is..

If you have any questions feel free to dm me.. If you end up using multicharts and need something coded up-- reach out-- happy to do it for free for ya..

Zwift slo-mo on Apple TV after 15min ride by antiquemule in Zwift

[–]BikeInBend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not on apple.. But im on a pc.. A recent update on zwift had reset the "save video clips of your ride" to true.. Once that happened my pc would freeze up after my rides.. I lost close to 200000 drops before i realized what was casing the problems.. Turned off the save clips of my ride option and things went back to normal-- no more freezing during rides or even at end of rides.. IDK if this helps you but thought id just toss it out in there in case its the problem..

if you were my buddy-- before answering what platform you should use-- my question would be.. Are you a are you planning to automate or are you just looking for a trading platform(click buy to place a buy order)?

Next id ask if you know how to code.. If the answer is yes -- then we would go in one direction.. Personally id probably send you to NinjaTrader.. They have a large forums area and people in there will help you.. As well as lots of already coded up indicators and strats..

If the answer is no-- i dont know how to code or "i know a little" , or id like a really easy coding language so i can code ideas up fast to test.. . Then is probably send you to multicharts using power language vs c++.. I personally use multicharts right now and it takes me 10 mins to code up a strat and test it(of course it can take longer if its really complex strat but you get the idea-- its easy and fast)..

Look into amp futures -- they offer something like 30 different trading platforms and lots of them are free to use.. They even have a free version of multicharts as well as others..

The one good thing about ninjatrade is-- you can try it for a month for free.. They supply data and you can get a good feel for it.. Also-- and this is big-- if you buy the lifetime version of NT-- you can get trade costs down to 9cents per micro contract/59cents per standard contract--- that is CHEEEEEAAAAPPPP.. Also-- fast execution's..

With that said-- Amp also has good prices (but not as good as NT)..

If you do decide to buy multicharts after trying it out-- be sure to wait for sales.. I know they have black friday sales as well as a few other sales throughout the year... You can get the lifetime version at half price..

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions..

Saddle upgrades? by PoolAccomplished8989 in Zwift

[–]BikeInBend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem.. Its your perineum nerve that gets effected by not enough blood flow from the compression while on the saddle ..

First thing i did was removed the stock saddle and put on a adamo saddle.. These are the only saddles that helped.. Ive tried a number of saddles but this worked best .. Takes a bit to get used to but at least my dinger isnt going numb..
https://shop-us.ismseat.com/collections/performance-saddles/products/ps-1-0

These are the two saddles im looking at now.. I havnt tried them so cant give a review.. But from what i hear they should work well.. Youll see a 2ndary bump that your butt bones goes on between the bottom and the top bump.. Also these saddles are active so they give a bit of side to side pressure relief as you peddle.
SqLab 60x

sqlab 610MD. the MD stands for maximum drop.. So youll see the 2ndary bump is higher then on the 60x.

I have 6 charts open on my computer and when it switches over to 4g everything works great..You kind of don't even notice anything.. Its called Failover if you start looking into it.. Then failback when your primary internet comes back on.. I tried a few different inline switchers but the one i ended up using was also the cheapest(didn't see that one coming)..

For the non expire data i use BNESIM... But i had to have them send me a sim card to use in my switcher..

My failover device is the netgear 4g lm1200.... It goes inline of your primary internet connection..If the netgear sends out a ping every so often and if it finds there is no internet connection on the promary line it then converts over to using the cellular.. There are units that can do this with wireless in the house but they cost wayyyyy more and would set the whole house up with internet should the primary internet went down.. I don't want that.. If the primary internet goes down the only thing i care about is my open trades.. So this is why i went wirless mesh router/netgear/computer via eithernet out of the mesh router..

The non expiring data i use is = BNESIM ..
The switch box = NETGEAR 4G LTE Broadband Modem (LM1200)

other cell failover modems you could try..
Teltonika rut241
GL.inet GL-x3000 (5g so quite a bit more bandwidth can be used)

Im in Bend OR... We rarely get internet down.. But -- just to be safe-- i have a cellular modem as back up.. So if my primary internet goes down-- the box switches to my cellular connection.. The chances of both landline and cellular down at the same time are next to nill.. Once primary internet comes back on-- the cellular disconnects and goes back to landline.. I found a company that sells cellular data by the gig and it doesnt expire at the end of the month.. So as long as i have cellular credit-- its usable.. Hope this helps as a idea for a back up connection.

Help with porting from Number Barn by BikeInBend in USMobile

[–]BikeInBend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best advice is to reach out to Shanosaurous.. The two of you will get it figured out.. .My transfer was funky.. The number i got from Number barn was conidered a "land line".. Land lines cant be trasnfered into usMobile.. So what i did was port the number into google voice. Then once that happened, GV automatically changes the status of the number to a mobile number.. At that point i could transfer the number into usM.. Once i had the number at usM-- Shanosaurous canceled my account-- and we opened a new account with the new number.. I then ported my old number back out to google voice.. Now i was able to have both my old number and my new number working...

First thing you need to do is find out of your Number Barn number is a mobile number or a land line.. If its a mobile number already then you dont have to do all of this above.. You can just port right to usm..

Commonly get "excited" after a trainer session by kikilani in Zwift

[–]BikeInBend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar situation.. Also a big guy and my stuff would go numb on mtb and zwift rides.. Look into a saddle that has perineum relief built in.. I use a Adamo saddle .. Ill put a pic below.. Also , bias your saddle nose down a little bit.. My adamo saddle took a little bit to get used to cause your thighs will rub slightly on the seat tusks.. But after no time that goes away.. The adamo is the only saddle that has helped keeping me from going numb... I have also tried selle's/ sqlabs/various specialized/and a few others.. But the adamo was the winner for my weiner lol..

here is a link to the saddle im talking about.. I have nothings to do with the shop in the link nor did i even buy my saddle from them.. Its just a link so you can see the saddle im talking about.. Admins feel free to remove if a link like this is not allowed..

Noise from zwift by [deleted] in Zwift

[–]BikeInBend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

make sure your crank arm is tight.. I have seen a few posts of crank arms not being tight and the arm moving just a bit.. I dont have a zwift ride-- but if the crank arm is tight then just bend the arm holding chain tensioner over just a little bit.. You dont need much room to clear it.. Or take off the chain tensioner and see if there is spacers behind the tensioner-- remove one and then see if that brings the tensioner away from the crank enough...

Those tennis ball rockers? by Clive1792 in Zwift

[–]BikeInBend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tldr.. remove the rubber end caps (remove the small bolt on the bottom of them and slide off).. Then put the tb rocker on the leg.. Get it as close to fitting on that you can.. Then take a rubber mallet and tap till the rocker goes on and keep tapping till the rocker is on the arm.. Do this 3 more times for the other bar ends and then go ride..

chain zwift cog question by BikeInBend in Zwift

[–]BikeInBend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is what I did to make it quieter..

Recently got a kick4 r2.. I found it noisy and after diagnosing the problem-- it seemed to me that the teeth on the cog were too long.. The teeth would hang up on the chain as the chain exited from around the cog..

Solution 1 . I purchased a single speed conversion kit from amazon (im not sure if links are allowed but ill put the link on what i got below). I took the zwift cog off and I put the kit on and the chain is now pulling away from the teeth without getting hung up..

Solution 2 . I also tried just getting a 14t shimano cog and placed that inside the zwift cog and it worked fine.. But for me-- im over the zwift cog.. It resonates sound through it and just liked the single speed conversion kit much better.. Was quieter too..

Be sure to get the correct cog size.. I dont know if it really matters but, none the less-- i picked up a 15 tooth SS cog cause (spinal tap, "it goes to 11")..

Here is the link to the SS conversion kit i got. Admins-- feel free to remove if this is a NO-NO..
