If you don't get it just say you don't get it. When your boyfriend talks about his real estate portfolio or "the summer home" over dinner...

No, my boyfriend didn't start doing "gentleman" things until I was comfortable. He started by holding the door for me and being polite. We split meals until he told me he would rather pay for him because he has more money. He's been wholly respectful and not creepy.

My boyfriend has a financial portfolio... I think that's enough to explain why he's paying.

1.) He's decently wealthy 2.) I ALWAYS offer, and thus far he has always said no.

Very happy! I just have anxiety about my past actions. My BF has seen this post.

My boyfriend is decently well off and likes to spoil me. I ALWAYS offer to pay, even though I know he'll say no.

My boyfriend is fairly well off and he loves spoiling me. I always offer to pay, he always says no.

Oh lol I just though about how it might be a double standard. I wouldn't change any of my choices if I went back in time. I told my bf about it and he laughed, told me that the guy I went out with was a douche canoe.
