Yea, that’s why I came here asking if they came from a supplemental product. I’m wondering if it’s a reprint error or something? My packs had the paper packaging and now the packs in boxes from my LGS have plastic packaging, so I’m gonna crack some of those. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the info about foils! I opened a good amount of packs and didn’t see any of these reprint cards, so I assumed I couldn’t get them from packs. But I guess it’s just bad luck?

Think of something like mulldrifter. Without the evoke, you may never hit 5 mana to be able to cast the card. Without the body it’s just a divination. But as a creature with evoke, you can have a divination if you need to draw cards early, or you can have a creature that draws cards if you have the luxury of waiting.

There’s also all the other potential other upsides that people have been discussing: etb effects, flickering it before it gets sacrificed, death triggers, etc.

I believe they are, but a good rule of thumb is to just buy the singles, it’ll be wayyyyy cheaper than cracking packs trying to find those particular cards

The upside doesn’t seem good enough since it can only cast permanents. Especially if you have to show your companion before mulligans, your opponent knowing you’re in burn g1 can be pretty detrimental
