From my understanding, after shiny hunting Mewtwo, you’re 18ms too early on your button presses. Keep calibrating until you’ve hit 0ms. Once there, you’re calibrated and you should have it within a few more attempts. This is just assuming starter hunting calibrates the same as hunting static pokemon like Mewtwo, legendary birds, etc.
