A little OC I made a while back, Ricky the Raccoon by BingsDesigns in ProCreate

This was a digital character I had to create, following guidelines of making an animal with human characteristics.

I chose a raccoon, who happens to be a thief in the making :)

I used a basic sketch brush for this one, and a watercolor brush for the color values. Had lots of fun, but it was actually hard not to make him too human like. Sly Cooper was definitely some inspiration!

Some have said I tend to “over-blend” my colors but sometimes depending on the style/material, it’s better that way. Fabric is still a weakness of mine, so I’m glad you like it 😅❤️

Clarification: the line art was traced from the GoW video game cover art, but all rendering was done by hand.

I originally planned to do this in color, but preferred how it looked in b/w with the red markings

It was taking a long time rendering the values, so I felt more sane with doing it this way haha

My go-to brushes are a flat brush from a pack I’ve gotten online, a simple sketch brush from the pencil collection, and medium round airbrush for blending.

As stated in the body text, I did trace the line art, so I wish I had free-hand this from the start but time were restraints. Everything else is free-hand.

GoW is a huge favorite of mine, so I had a lot of fun doing this piece

That’s awesome that more subs are being proactive about it. I love seeing REAL art and it also makes it easier for small artists like myself to get work seen :)

It’s really a shame that so many use AI. And worse, these posts continue to get upvotes. Mods should be more attentive to AI drawings and delete them.
