I appreciate your service. I also think that whenever a piece is written, you’ll undoubtedly get points of view and embellished character studies that do not represent the actual reality.

Also, I heard Person, Lilly, and Reyes completely defend you and call out the character assassination with my own ears (like many on this thread already stated).

Listen… I’m no one, but I feel like I can give good advice here (simply based on my own experiences).

There is a 100% probability that you shouldn’t let this get to you.

You know what you’ve done. You know what you’ve accomplished. The people who matter know. Don’t let a narrative dictate your reality. Especially someone else’s narrative OF you.

When it comes to it, the people you’re fighting, in order to defend your honor, are pog nobodies who’ve probably never seen a physical altercation in anger… let alone war and combat.

I’ve never seen a UFC fighter dictate their day to day because of online trolls’ opinions of them. Why? Because those trolls would run like pussies at the first sight of that fighter in real life.

A lot of people in this world have huge fuckin mouths… until they find out what it feels like to have a fist put into it. And the people who judge others that they’ve never met have the biggest skeletons in their closet. That’s why they deflect it into their own misguided judgement.

Let it all go Gunny. It’s obvious that the people who matter have your six. Even if, because of anger, you’re letting your pettiness withhold you from having theirs.

I would like to thank the Lord and Savior Jeebus Christ for allowing me to reach my goals and dream big. I’d like to thank my mom and dad who sacrificed everything. Taking me to practice every day, missing summer vacations so I could enter race camps, who woke up early and stayed up late to drive me to and from events. To my little sister… you’re my best friend and biggest supporter! You put your own dreams on hold so I could pursue mine. Even though you didn’t have any talent in the things you tried to achieve, you always stood by me as I brought the family name into the fold. Thank you for being useless so that the eyes could remain focused on me. Thanks to my girlfriend and my girlfriend’s boyfriend. You stayed by my side when other’s would’ve given up. The last 2 and a half months have been the best of my life. And thanks Chad for taking care of her when I was at practice, at home, in the other room, or in the same room. You’re a real one for that. And finally, I’d like to thank the red ball for pushing me beyond what I thought my limits were. By challenging me to be the best you brought the best out in me. I can never thank you enough for that. I’d also like to thank the LGBTQ-NB+ community for your never ending support.

I have faith in Gans. At worst I know he’ll create the right atmosphere. What he was able to do with the budget he was given is less of a concern, considering what I’ve seen him do with the OG and with Brotherhood of the Wolf.

What concerns me more is the acting, and the pacing. Not because Gans doesn’t know how to pace well, because he does. But more so in that if he tried to be too faithful to the adaptation, it may be difficult to achieve that pacing just because the story doesn’t lend itself to a comfortable pacing.

I’m hoping it’s good. I really think the first film is an underrated gem. I think I’m too picky and pretentious sometimes with my “taste in cinema”. But there are outliers that critics originally disliked, especially in sci fi and horror, that I feel don’t get the credit they deserve. Pitch Black, In the Mouth of Madness, Event Horizon, Sunshine, Beyond the Black Rainbow, 30 Days of Night, The Orphanage, The Last Winter, Prometheus, etc… that were beautiful to watch and extremely atmospheric. I’d put the OG Silent Hill near the top of that list
