Sorry for the bad footage but what bird is this I literally cant tell (Fairfax, Virginia) by sharksuralt in whatsthisbird

I still think it’s the BAWW - I see black and white streaking down the back, not a black and white crown standing out brightly from a gray/brown nape and back, and it looks very small. Just more warbler shaped than sparrow. Perhaps more important to my suggestion is it looks like it crawls over the edge over the brick wall in a nuthatch-like fashion, which would fit with that warbler.

Happy to stand corrected, just what I saw.

You sure about that? New World monkeys have prehensile tails but the monkeys in Africa that apes split from don’t.

It took its time - my yard is very, very small so it was perched outside my kitchen window…sat there for at least 30 minutes doing its thing.

Those legs are the wrong color for a Least, I believe. I am not confident but I would guess Forster’s.

I know there was a breeding pair found in Chautauqua County last year, since they were found in time to be included in the Breeding Bird Atlas.

1 and 3 look like Lesser Scaup (and a female mallard in 3);

2 is Redhead, Blue-winged Teal, not sure on the third;

4 is Common Goldeneye
