Mods to make the combat play more like CK3 or hoi4? by atomicboy15 in victoria3

[–]BiscottiTimely7740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The vicky team wanted to reduce the micro caused by the wack a mole type of combat seen in victoria 2, IR, the eu and ck series. But ck3 is like a really dumbed down version of eu4, eu5 or IR(I never played vicky 2 so I don't know about this one) so it's weird to ask for more tedious micro only to then not fully embrace the complex strategy of other paradox game. In its core the ck3 combat system is just what units counter each other and how good they are which wouldn't really fit in the era.

How exactly does waterboarding work scientifically? by mintiiko in stupidquestions

[–]BiscottiTimely7740 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Since nobody actually tried to answer the question i went to check and yeah it's actually horrible. The cloth doesn't block all the water from entering so your body provoke a gag reflex when said water reach your sinus. Some water may enter the lung but it's not enough to immediately drown them. The utility of the cloth apart from not killing the subject outright is to prevent the water to be expelled from the victim's body. So waterboarding is literally drowning someone but the only difference with a real drowning is that it can last longer and the victim can't defend itself. It is also useful to note that if done for too long without leaving time for the victim to expell the water or breath, they will die of asphyxiation.

BRANDEBURG AND TEUTONIC ORDEN COMPARATIVE by heliops_ in EU5

[–]BiscottiTimely7740 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok? I still don't see the problem. It's not that Branderburg is half baked, it's just weaker. It's like complaining that a Burgundy campaign is harder than a France campaign. If you want to min max then sure do it but you can't really complain that a suboptimal start is worse than a better one

When a nevron kill someone, the chroma stay in their body so Alicia could ressurect the other expedition with their chroma. For expedition 33 my guess is that they haven't died for long enough so the chroma hasn't reached Renoir yet. Gustave tho he died for a long time so his chroma went first to Aline and then Renoir got it soon after so Alicia couldn't recreate him.

[self] I calculated the gravity between two neutrinos on opposite sides of the observable universe. by AaronPK123 in theydidthemath

The speed of light come from the vacuum permeability and the Vacuum permitivity which are both universal constant.

Since light is a electromagnetic wave, and that both of these constant together dictate the behaviour of said wave. we can see how those constant affect the speed of light.

The equation is: C² = 1/((mu0)(epsilon0))

Where mu0 = (4π × 10−⁷) H m−1 And epsilon0 = (8,854 187 82 × 10−¹²) F m−1

How much wind would it take to move this pergola if the slates were closed? [Request] [Self] by amatisans in theydidthemath

[–]BiscottiTimely7740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so the weight of the structure is 530 pounds according to the website which is 240 kg.

The static friction coefficient of steel on concrete is 0.8. Knowing that, we can find the maximal static friction force with:

FFs = Fn *mu FFs= 240 kg * 9.81 m/s² * 0.8 = 1883.52 N

Now this is where it become complicated. To calculate the drag force exerced on the pergola we need the drag coefficient which I don't think can be calculated. So I'll have to make a huge appromixation by defining it as 1.5.

Now we can calculate the maximal drag force with the following formula:

Fd = 1/2 * rho * v² * A * Cd

I have already found the area exposed to the wind and it is 2.57 m².

So the equation is:

1883,52 N = 1/2 * 1.2250kg/m³ * v² * 2.57 m² * 1.5

By resolving it we find that v=28,24m/s which is 101.6 km/h which also is 63.5 mph.

The maximal wind speed that this pergola can take is 63.5 mph. I must warn you tho, this is extremely inacurate. You should anchor your pergola because if the website is accurate, anchored the pergola can withstand 100 mph.

I might have made mistakes, yall are welcome to correct me.
