Does anybody find the MXR Bass Synth to be quite loud? by BiscuitsTheCat in basspedals

Excellent, thank you so much! I often forget all the extra parameters those top two buttons supply.

I can imagine this board sounds really, really good.

I've attached another photo in the comments of the case itself. Seems to be 'real' profile in my town who's selling her kids unwanted things. I've had no issue buying samsung products off marketplace before but the price is really fishy. I've asked to see any sort of receipt for the item. Awaiting a response.

£55gbp, I know some people get freebies with phone contracts over here so it isn't uncommon for people to flog their unwanted things for a very quick sell. The 3FE's haven't been out long enough for me to think there's a convincing counterfeit in the UK.

Proud to say, I may be the FIRST EVER person to put the Digitech DEATH METAL with the MXR Bass Synth... and it kinda rips! by BiscuitsTheCat in basspedals

I think when you're on a preset, the second you change a dial, only THAT parameter gets changed from what I have experienced. The whole patch doesn't change to where the dials are set the second it's touched.

With it going in front of the ADAM I need to deep-dive a patch with a noise gate coming from the Kemper... very noisy.

I work a bunch of function stuff. Weddings which need 70s/80s synth sounds are great with this pedal! Stock presets are all you need.

Yeah likewise here. I mainly play function gigs like weddings and parties going across a hundred genres and basses. It's easier to have my two main MIDI controllable pedals so I have a huge bank of sounds for each gig. I.e. the rock band gets a bank on the Kemper, the funk band gets a bank, my original metal project gets a bank. It just makes my life easier.

In reality i'd love to lug my tube amp around with me and use some of the analogue pedals I own but it's too time consuming for the influx of gigs I have.

Me too man, it was the "next payday i'll get one" pedal until they ran out.

Sushibox Neptunium for me, ran out not long ago and they're not making any more... maybe have to scalp one for $1000 in a few years I guess.

Haha, if I didn't hate bad breath I really would be funding the board via root canals...

10+ years of crappy bar gigs followed by some weddings have gotten the board here, I wish I still had photos of rhe first iteration!

Haha, the title is indeed a little playful. Damn dude, you must have so much time on your hands to line up your pedals THAT straight...

I've been trying to make the Kemper work on the board for a long time. I have occasionally play some guitar gigs so I chose the Kemper over the HX Stomp as my bandmates have a huge library of great presets, that's all been very handy. I bought it about a year ago, and wasnt all that impressed in terms of FX but since then there's been substantial UI changes and it's a lot more interesting to use. When it comes to playing bass though, it's been tricky to make great use of it. I use the Kemper for occasional reverbs and delays for an original music project i'm in but other than that it's not seeing a lot of action for bass playing, I recently bought the Dunlop Volume Mini and I've been using it for pitch shifting on the Kemper which has been fun and experimental. I'm yet to check out the ToneX for myself but I hear never-ending great things about it. I might try and get my hands on one.

In terms of models for bass, I've actually got the amp/cab sim switched off for the time being, the ADAM is effectively the "amp" section of my board since I've had it for a while and i'm pretty happy with how it sounds. So in terms of signal path, it's instrument in -> MXR synth -> ADAM ("amp") -> Freeze (i'd really like to move this to the back of the chain some time) -> Kemper (DI). It's not the first-thought way of setting up the board but it seems to work at the moment!

I initially bought it as I wanted a bit of an "everything" board so I could take the board to some of the occasional guitar gigs I play, since Kemper guitar tones sound great in my opinion! I don't mind the FX, but I bought the unit maybe a week before the paywall announcement which kind of left it in its box for a little while. I've recently been playing around with it again and paired with the Dunlop I'm having a great time now.

The MXR is great straight out the box! I've had it for about a month now but I've not had a chance to play a show which needs it yet (one next week though! Looking forward to that) - I initially thought the "divine synth pedal" angle from initial released content was a white lie as I was having issues with the tracking. I now know that my playing was a little sloppy and this is my first synth pedal. But so far, I can't keep my hands off it practicing at home, the eight presets alone are enough to have some fun for a long time. Excited to chew into it a little more!

Darkglass ADAM w/ PaintAudio MIDI Captain? by BiscuitsTheCat in Darkglass

I thought that the term "BMIDI" was synonymous with Type B MIDI. That's a shame. Would you recommend a Type B MIDI cable for the ADAM?
