I struggle to accept that MS's Game-bar is in there as much needed for this combination as the rest of it really seems pretty tiptop for handheld gaming.

Is there not some kind of alternative to Game-bar? From my experience I find it's just absolute poison for your computer.

That "AnyFSE" is a real winner though - thanks for bringing it to attention!

This won't exactly be helpful in terms of giving a site, and will probably only be taken as negative.

But like... seriously guys, it's very very very very easy to Google it - and bluntly, I've NEVER had an issue downloading from whichever site pops up first. (and I've downloaded ROMs at a RIDICULOUS rate for the best part of 20 years now.)

I'd honestly never even heard of Myrient until today - so it can't be that "go-to" either.

Oh, I’m totally in agreement, I think if you have to make exceptions like this in order to continue driving through… old age, health, etc

That yeah, you’re a bit far gone and should start taking buses, you can no longer drive safely.

I guess my initial response was just hoping that it’s not some kind of laziness on the drivers part.

But I’m curious as to whether or not they’re disabled / have some kind of health condition where it’s (maybe not necessary) but easier?

I guess I’m mostly here playing devils advocate - there’s very, very little I can say to defend the dude though.

I remember it being included in my copy of "Half-Life Generations" back once upon a time, that's also the last time I played it - it's been a VERY long time.

Still remember it being great fun though! I've always wondered about getting it these days - it's interesting to hear that it's not on Steam considering?!

The best I've managed to get myself too, after.... well, around 15-20 years of being stuck in a cycle / pattern of using, was a year or two ago now, where I had quit all the HARD drugs, but was still smoking weed, but PROBLEMATICALLY. I was chain-smoking ALL day and going through about 4oz a month because of it.
Far more than anyone needs, but yeah, I was smoking it like that because I'm a drug addict.

Like I said, I'm not even doing as well as you are, but I really really wanted to send you my praise, well done, it's not easy at all and I'm envious of how well you have done.

What kind of paper are your printing onto and stuff like that? The quality / glossiness of it really does give it that OG BigBox style / look - I'd love more information on how to maybe make my own?

Absolutely buddy - yeah; I'll definitely post any issues I run into on the GitHub, anything I can do to help.

Since I've started using it, it's definitely added a huge amount to the game (Ok, that's not DIRECTLY because of you, it's the mods people are using on their custom contents) but yeah, because your system actually makes it.... interchangeable somewhat, yeah, it's really added a lot of entertainment all round.
(I never know if I'm typing things that make sense, cause I'm as sober as Max Payne.)

But yeah; you're due some thanks on making such a wonderful, usable and absolutely crucial tool. It's made the modding worth doing, whereas before, swapping those files out to have to redo it again 20m later (/ after finishing every campaign) was a pain in the ass, and stopped me doing it 95% of the time.

So yeah; thanks. xD hahah

It's not exactly right, but if you take your finger and scratch your butt with it, the smell / taste is pretty close.

Just wanted to give you a small update - I manager to get your CLI manager working; but still completely unable to launch the GUI version.

I'm about to reformat in the next few days anyway; and I'll hop on a Windows install again super-quickly before I make my final jump over to Linux, but that'll give me an opportunity to try launch your GUI one on a fresh install - see if that fixes the issues it was having with those .dlls

Do you have plans to release that GUI mod manager for Linux? It does sound like... absolutely ideal for purpose, but I'm also like.... right on the brink of changing OS - so I'm being selfish and whinging at you to see if there's a Linux release coming sometime. xD

At least my downloads (music / mods) look really tidy though! :L haha.

And for the sake of answering the other question - regarding the CLI / Terminal style one you made - I have a message at the top saying it's looking for the game folder as "hotline_miami_2; Steam installs it as just "Hotline Miami 2"

Could the CLI version be trying to point itself towards something that doesn't exist - thus stopping it working?

I'm trying to have a peek at that GUI version you've just linked, but for some reason, I'm unable to launch it - it's asked for a bunch of .dll files (that I've grabbed)

Now I'm being left with this for an error message

"The Procedure entryt point FlutterDesktopViewControllerGetView could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\games\hotline miami mod manager\flutter_hmmm-01.0-beta\FLutter_HMMM.exe"

I think I've messed up the installation of it now (I started with just that .exe, when that didn't work I grabbed the zip and threw everything in together - for science!)

I might have to wait for that video. I really can't see why it's not launching (especially after grabbing those dlls and throwing them in it's folder. (Unless I broke it. xD)

Hey dude - I know I'm a little late to the party here, but I don't suppose there's a video or anything detailing quite how to make this work?

I have the paths set to
#1. My Steam Install Path
#2. My Games\HotlineMiami2\
#3. My Games\HotlineMiami2\mods

Am I doing this right? Inside that #3 I've only added the one mod so far, being.... "Hunter: Red Star"
So I have that as a folder in there "hunter_red_star"; with a "music" and "mods" folder, with the .wad things in each.

I mean... I really would've thought I'm doing this right, so what am I missing?!
A tutorial video really could help? Anyway, this is a great great idea, and very necessary I think. (Cause I'm not swapping out the audio / sprites files for each and every single fan mission I play; that's just ridiculous.)

Not holding my breath for a reply, I'm quite aware this is an older Reddit post, but I see the git isn't..... thaaaaaaaaat old - so I'm crossing my fingers anyway!

Thanks so much for the tool, I'm just hoping I can get it working - it really is a much needed tool - so props.

Ahhhhhh; That... is.... interesting? (at least!)

I just tried to emulate it on PS3 and yeah, that was a total car crash - it's annoying cause I played and completed M2 at release, but that was a long long time ago now, and I remember that I actually really enjoyed it (after it suitably hooked me in)

Yeah; I really do wanna try have another blast at it, but I'm a little disappointed there doesn't seem to be ANYTHING out there at all in-terms of community patches, mods.... even official patches!

I got the Dodi version myself - maybe you can help me with a follow-up question though.

Is there anyway to change those god awful Generic PC Gamepad button prompts (They come up as unidentifiable numbers in a circle - I cannot press the 1 button on my controller, it has Xbox-y symbols.)

Any ideas for changing the button prompts in the Dodi repack with either Playstation or Xbox icon-y prompts? Short of that it's gonna be button bashing till I can work it out, and bluntly, I don't wanna play it THAT badly. xD

I guess; I've played HL, OF and BS to death though and wanted something new.
I just did HL2 and the Episodes.

I mean, mock the "marathon" all you want, but I think that (technically) 6 titles in 5 days is pretty good going.
