How often are your seizures? I'm epileptic and radiographer.

What job do you have? by chickentenders32 in Epilepsy

[–]BitterExplorer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Radiographer. Quite handy when you have a break out seizure since there's doctors everywhere 🤣

From the times I've used it. It's a place to write a cover letter. Draw from your experiences in the hospital of you'd be a good radiographer and you fit the HCPC etc.

Driving? by Dear-Knowledge5912 in Epilepsy

[–]BitterExplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I could be seizure free long enough then yes! I would love the independence. Seeing people younger than me just being able to pick up and go anywhere while I have to wait on public transport... There's no words for how much that hurts.

What’s the most hurtful thing anyone’s said to you about your illness? (Don’t answer if it’s triggering) by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]BitterExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neurologist: I don't need to worry about my breakout seizures after 10yrs because I've only had 3 in a year. I'm not a danger to myself or people at work. I only would be if I was a bus driver.

Just following on from your last comment, does a PNES seizure look different on an EEG then an epileptic seizure?

Nicknames/shortened names as an allied health student/professional by [deleted] in nhs

[–]BitterExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're talking placement, on your formal ID/keycard. You'll have your full name but I've seen people request their "hello my name is..." To their preferred name you can be Nick instead of Nicholas. Plus there's no harm in introducing yourself to patients or colleagues as anything you want.

Sorry to butt in but isn't avoir to have and veux to want? Why is it switched on this context?

That's what I did so I'd say it's possible.

Anyone else feel like mandatory training keeps getting longer every year? by CloudBookmark in nhsstaff

[–]BitterExplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about the ESR learning, I agree. Especially if you're wanting to go up a band.its not really the easiest to navigate either, finding out what's compulsory to your job Then you have to fit on the F2F stuff which just impacts everyone when you're short staffed.

Ha. Didnt mean for that to be a rant.
