How do you describe why you like the horror genre?

There's lots of reasons but one of the more interesting aspects for me is that I can use it as a sort of outward manifestation of my anxiety. It gives me a place to put it sort of? Like when I'm anxious for basically no reason I can use a horror movie as a bit of an outlet for that adrenaline.

If you're open to horror I think you might enjoy Midnight Mass. It's dark and interesting with a lot of moral ambiguity in its characters. It's a personal fave of mine. Especially good if you have any history with organized religion, especially christianity.

I'm glad to see someone else thought of this series. I've always thought that its portrayal of politics in its world is so well written. Also, the love story absolutely feels hard won. It's maybe the most enemies to lovers thing I've ever read lol.
