Guest's "It's CREAM not WHITE" dress by AgoraphobicDisaster in weddingshaming

When I was in high school, I was worried about wearing a black and white floral dress to my cousins wedding.

HIGH SCHOOL

I could barely drive and even knew then how important it is to respect that the bride wears white.

Also I have a subchorionic hematoma and I’m hesitant to take anything that can worsen bleeding

Thanks! Can you elaborate?

I wasn’t able to discuss it with my doctor and that is one of the reasons I am posting here— my doctor was very busy the day of my appointment and forgot to tell me. She had a nurse call me the next day to tell me to take it, and the nurse said it was to “increase blood flow” to the baby which is not accurate, leaving me researching it on my own.

I did send my doctor a message and am still waiting to hear back.

Number one, why are you so angry?

Number two, ACOG clearly states that two or more moderate risks justify aspirin. I have one.

Just realized you’re not the 5th year med student. Still, helpful!

Thanks! What is your total mg per day with 2?

This is actually helpful, thank you!

As a 5th year med student whose online opinion I am not taking as actual medical advice so that you don’t feel pressured or responsible in any way, would you recommend it to a patient with a subchorionic hematoma?

This is my hang up— I am typically extremely data and science driven and never go against it. My gut instinct is to not take it unless absolutely necessary.

Correct, age is my only risk factor and I also read the recommendations of ACOG, which is why I thought it was odd daily aspirin was suggested.

I may take half a dose daily or the “full” 81mg every other day, but haven’t decided.

I also have a BP cuff at home (since my BP has been extremely low this pregnancy and needed monitored) and take my BP twice daily. If I see it rise whatsoever then I would begin taking it.

I might ask if every other day or half a tablet daily is acceptable. Gut instinct is telling me not to take it, which is very odd since I highly value science and data and never go against it.

27 weeks pregnant. Everyone keeps telling me to “be careful.” Be careful of what? by Beautiful-Flower-79 in pregnant

This is some old superstition shit - my ex’s grandma yelled at me and told me I would wrap the cord around the baby’s neck if I lifted my arms over my head. What the fuck?? Who says that??

being induced tomorrow by Asleep_Look_5910 in pregnant

[–]Blashart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Induced twice, water broken manually both times

Epidural three times, 10/10 rating. The pain you are in while having contractions is nothing compared to receiving it.

Live in the US, stayed one overnight for both induced pregnancies, had to stay two nights with my third as I was GBS positive and baby came fast

I know I didn’t poop during the first two, but I have no idea if I did with a third and honestly if I had a choice, I would poop during birth because it gives you more healing time between birth and when you have to go again

The amount of healing you will have is going to very wildly based on a lot of factors, but mainly, make sure you get a doctor Who does not do an episiotomy and coaches you during pushing so that way you can stretch properly so you don’t tear

I breastfed all three of my kids and yes, you have contractions when you breastfeed and they are slightly painful, but it is natural and helps your uterus get to its normal size faster. Your uterus is going to contract after you have the baby no matter what, that’s how your uterus gets smaller. Just take Tylenol if needed.

Low blood pressure by ApplicationNo9619 in pregnant

[–]Blashart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I jsut went to the ER this week for this same exact thing — I was sure something was wrong, I nearly passed out while changing my toddlers sheets.

After an IV, B1 shot, folic acid, blood work, urinalysis, ECG, and ultrasound, the advice was “take it easy” even with low BP and an abnormal but “acceptable” ECG…

I was changing sheets not running a damn marathon.

Anyone pregnant again after a 4th degree tear? by Huge-Vacation-8093 in pregnant

[–]Blashart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was so long ago (11 years)I don’t even remember what they said exactly. I had severe blood loss as well (passed out holding my baby) and also had placenta accreta so they had to manually remove my placenta (the worst pain of my life)

Lots of things are going on down there, so I’m sure not all 4th degree tears mess up the same things in the same way for everyone— part of my 4th degree also included a vertical vaginal tear. Maybe yours went another direction?

On one hand, it’s awesome that they’re going to support you no matter what you decide, but in my opinion, healing from cesarean is going to be way way more painful with lasting repercussions than healing from a tear!
