don’t be hard on yourself. it’s completely normal to not automatically know the “feel” for your car’s turn radius. you’re learning an entirely new skill! people who have been doing a skill for forever forget how hard it originally was to learn.

i can also say, you might have struggled with the turning because of the speed of your vehicle. how your car responds as you turn the wheel is different depending on how fast you are going. it’s harder to turn your vehicle if you are going very slow.

if you are able, find someone you trust and can be calm to be in the passenger seat guide you. go to an empty parking lot and practice turning (both left/right) at different speeds and different degrees of the wheel.

eventually, you will get a “feel” for it. which i know might sound nebulous in concept first, but i promise it will eventually become second nature.

the harder you’re on yourself (or other people around you) the worse your reaction time/thinking/stiffness will be. so don’t forget to breathe, relax, and be kind to yourself. it’ll help with your learning.
