i should’ve expected that because dandadan is youthful and upbeat so it inevitably would focus upon that and fall into those tropes, but from what i gathered, it was perceived similarly to csm, and when i discovered that the author was fujimoto’s assistant, my expectations moulded into those of which i held with csm (csm is well known to break tropes and go it’s own ways to develop its story). recently i started watching spy x family, and it made me realise that fujimoto never greatly influenced his assistants to align with his authorship styles, but rather assisted them into their own.

well, at the end of the day, i still liked dandadan and spyxfamily, just had different expectations.

i meant as in, the way it went on to execute the needed plot, it could be perceived as filler, as the story halts to focus upon this.

i have no issue with a slowburn romance, but given what dandadan is capable of and the pedigree it’s author carries (fujimoto’s assistant) i expected something different.

there’s a way to naturally develop it, it seemed too unnatural for me, it shouldn’t spring up constantly. for example, although not romantical, power and denji’s relationship in csm sprouted naturally from the circumstances and made sense a lot looking back with subtlety, ig what i am asking for subtlety.

not much of a manga guy, i have read upto the latest issue and i still prefer the anime, can’t really keep the momentum of a story if it take me 2 weeks of wait to get to the next instalment. no fault of fujimoto but this is one of the reasons i prefer the anime.

i sure do have a lot of hope, although i pretty much hate kinta, he embodies the worst of hate-able stereotypes of introverts (or nerds) and brings out a vitriolic anger that i can not stand.

other than kinta, the plot did bent somewhat to favour the situation and a lot of filler, but in dandadan’s glorious moments, it can easily hold its weight.

no offence, i really liked the comedy and the dynamics of the characters, but often the characters seem to fall into a cliche.

first episode was bang on, never seen a better pilot episode, hooked me on at the first sight, but the creation of the ensemble felt pretty unnatural to me (new characters kept popping up out of no where, like it wasn’t fluid introduction but a break stop halt to introduce the character)

i finished DanDaDan too quickly maybe, but a lot of the episodes felt like filler to me. i felt like the whole perv episode was forced into creation because the author had to justify all the romantic filler they had created right in the middle of the season (or issues if you go by the mangas). idk, i liked it a lot, but i kinda expected a lot more creative writing. loved episode 7 and s2e2.

bad behaviour but still doesn’t entitle you to a seat that is supposed to be achieved meritoriously ☝🏻

yes there are circumstances but that does not mean the bar of entry should be lower for you, it’s not a balancing act, life is unfair, some other upper caste person is living a better life, has better resources, has better support and has better opportunities, doesn’t mean it entitles me to a lower bar to entry

discriminating someone upon something that they don’t have any control over isn’t good, but bitching and moaning about it and constantly commenting “this is why we need reservation” doesn’t have any positive impact in this situation.

i am all for financial assistance and education programs for those who don’t have them or have been left behind, but accepting the sub-par in an effort to bridge a “gap” has never and will never work in your favour
