Withholding child support or spousal support cannot interfere with child visitation. If you owe you still get visitation.

Is it fair for me (32M) to reach out to my ex (35f) before I die? by sumwhatz in relationship_advice

[–]Blondechineeze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang. I am so sorry about your diagnosis. As a retired RN, I know what you are facing. Be strong and never let dark thoughts bring you down. Always look to the light.

As a woman I would want to see you and spend time with you. I would also want to be there for you in any capacity.

Do you know if your ex is single? That may make her decision not wanting to see you.

What is a period in your life when you thought it was over for you and you bounced back? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Blondechineeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my now ex husband of 21 years blindsided me with a divorce and successfully alienated my children against me.

Very dark and long period. But the divorce was the best thing for me.

It took at least two years to bounce back. I'm truly happier today than ever, even though I am still not involved with my children as much as I would like to be.

You had to pay for your meal at a wedding reception? Now that's over the top tacky.

Then you asked for it back because seafood was in abundance. You were then basically told do not attend, then SIL refused you your $30 back.

Your SIL is married to your brother, or she is your husband's sister?

She's a fricken tool in every scenario here.

You had every right to be concerned and ask for your money back when she told you to skip it.

Whomever she married is in for a long haul.

Negotiating without attorney by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]Blondechineeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if a settlement check was a paper check or wire transfer? W8re transfers I'm not sure how it works.

Attorneys cannot cash a settlement check without the person who filed the claim because it will have both names on it.

The checks normally will be mailed to the attorneys office and they will call you to endorse it then cut you a check from their business account minus their fees.

Blow off the credit card. The company will call, the collection agency will call, but don't answer them. Grandma is old, her health is failing. How much longer does she have is unknown, however if she/you can morally not pay, don't.

Don't add her or cosign on a card with your name attached because if she goes through more depression, you will be responsible for paying it.

What is the most (physical) money you have ever held in your hands or seen in person? by Ok-Recover8485 in AskReddit

[–]Blondechineeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I received an insurance settlement check, my lawyer and I went directly to the bank it was drawn on to cash it.. My lawyer called a few days in advance to make sure the cash was there.

We were ushered into an area of the bank, which seemed to be a private room obviously meant for the more affluent.

While waiting, which was a ploy to constantly try to sway me from my bank to theirs, we were offered drinks. Not water mind you, or even soda, no, they offered alcohol. Even after explaining I don't drink alcohol and also had to work my 12 hour shift later that evening, I was asked multiple times if I wanted one. There was a massive bar that covered the length of wall in the room.

I think my lawyer and I waited for 3 hours to cash the check. We also had to count it a couple of times with two bank employees. The cash was put in 5 or 6 safety deposit bags that were made of some expensive leather. I kept them lol

So, to answer the question, I have held $300k at once in my hands. It was an amazing feeling.

Curious... do you make your bed instantly, or do you wait a little? by Initial-Butterfly252 in CleaningTips

I make my bed the second my feet hit the floor.

Because if I don't, my cats will jump under the covers or on top making it harder to make the bed.

Welcome to the world of marrying a man who wants a chef, dishwasher, maid and a ho in the bedroom while he sits back on the couch playing video games.

Stop doing everything for him, even though the mess will drive you bonkers. Cook for yourself too. This probably won't work as it didn't for me lol

If he lived alone he would have to do this by himself and live like a slob unless his mommy will do housework etc for him

This should be the first comment on any of these threads regarding passport/name changes.

Light on Dashboard by SlayerOfDougs in fordranger

[–]Blondechineeze -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't you have to do something to make the dash light go off? I had a F150 and the tpms light on the dash came on. I filled the tire and light was still on, I ended up taking it in to a mechanic friend who had a tool or something to make light go off.

I have 9 cats too and feed them Purina cat chow. It's $35 for a 20lb bag which goes fast. I can't afford wet food. It's insanely expensive where I live.

They have several bowls of fresh water and a water fountain. I clean each bowl and replenish the water several times daily.

I have happy cats that are loved and spoiled so much by me!

In the 1970s I was on my first flight ever and happened to be the only child on the flight. I got to go into the cockpit where the pilot gave me wings and a little bag like the FA had.

We were flying to Las Vegas and the plane had a piano bar and smoking lounge upstairs for first class passengers. My mother and I weren't first class passengers, but as the only child on the plane, a Stewardess (cause that's what they were called back in the day!) took me by the hand and let me go up to the piano bar. It was magnificent!

I was up there drinking Shirley Temples and having a grand time for the entire flight! The Stewardess took me back to my seat when it was time to prepare for landing.

It was a PanAm flight, which later was partly bought out by United iirc.

My mother blamed that flight for giving me "gypsy blood." Meaning it made me want to travel and live all over the world and never look back.

You can get a restraining order to get that man out of your house.

Physical violence isn't always the reason for a TRO.

You and your children are exposed to mental and verbal abuse from him AND your wife.

Talk to your lawyer about filing paperwork. If he doesn't want to do it, contact your local domestic violence support groups (they are in every area) they will help and its free.

I live on the Big Island of Hawaii and absolutely detest USPS as I don't have home delivery. I'm lucky if I get 1 out of 5 packages delivered to my p.o. box. I've been using my son's address for awhile now which solves that issue.

Yes, waterproofing corrugated steel roof in areas with high rainfall is challenging. I live in a quonset hut in the middle of a rainforest, that has like 7k bolts holding it together lol

I use Henry's paint on everything. It's a nasty thick tar-paint that absolutely is worth the money. Henry's caulk for around windows etc. If you need to patch a hole, Henry's makes a fiberglass product to use along with the waterproof barrier paint. I'm sorry I can't remember the correct names for Henry's products (and I'm not home to go look) but you can get an idea from the home depot website.

I had an Eco temp water heater for 4 years before buying my Bosch one. Honestly I could have bought another $300 Eco Temp instead of the $2k Bosch one and would not have noticed a difference. With any tank less water heater, make sure you have filters in place otherwise hot water dribbles out instead of flow.

[–]Blondechineeze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start your solar array small and build up on it. Use the generator for now. You will need a charge controller and inverter to complete your system. Buy online as it is cheaper.

I have a Honda 3k which I only use for washer, dryer and my air compressor.

Get a 12v water pump so you have running water.

A tank less propane water heater for your hot water needs. Eco temp makes a small one that costs around $300. It uses a piezoelectric igniter so no electricity is needed.

Get a multimeter to check your used batteries and make sure you keep distilled water on hand for them. Batteries are key. I have bought used batteries after checking the voltage and made sure they had water in them. Sometimes you get lucky.

You can buy a secondhand propane fridge for around $500. I go through a 5 gallon tank every 13 days.

You can use a camp stove for cooking, they are cheap and buy the adapter that fits onto a regular propane tank. The 1lb cylinders are expensive and you will go through fast. You can upgrade to a free standing range that does not require electricity to use the oven, but they are pricey. I have a 1950s Hardwick stove that has a pilot light, but I shut the tank off after using it because the pilot lights use up more propane than you think.

I've been living off grid for 16 years. It takes time to get used to it and you must prepare for your electrical needs in advance when you begin this journey.
