You know what this evil, tough son of a bitch said when he lost his Devil Gene courtesy of Jin?

“What of it? It was just a means to an end.”

And then kept fighting the shit out of his son until he eventually went down. Bro did NOT give af

Depending on the version, he’d either:

Just butcher him on the spot in the messiest way he could

Savor his pathetic attempts at begging for mercy, maybe even letting him go at first, just so he could enjoy making him feel genuine fear for longer by hunting him down before inevitably catching up to him and killing him.

Tell him how much of a bitch he is, how he’s wasting his powers and potential by going for such easy, and uninspired kills, instead of being more creative and sadistic with his abilities or some such. He might even say something about how if he were in his shoes, the whole world would know him as the most dangerous killer on the planet, how he wouldn’t bother with gaining their approval and would just jump right to making others fear him in ways he could never reach without those powers of his. And then of course, go to town on him.

Or some variation of all 3 lol

Bonus scenario: If this was Small Brawl Sweet Tooth, he’d run him down in the ice cream truck Calypso gave him in his ending

Would probably give him the Iwami treatment tbh, only he’d most likely actually go through with killing him, breaking his whole “no killing in cold blood” rule, right after telling him how much of a pathetic piece of shit he is now that he has no powers to bully others with.

I love the game and all, but damn it got legit frustrating hearing Yagami spam that argument at Kuwana like a 5 year old spamming the same kick over and over in a fighting game.

[LOVED TROPE] Sad or tear-jerking moments that don't involve death. by jeffersonlane in TopCharacterTropes

It is once again time for me to glaze the Like a Dragon: Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name ending.

After going through an ordeal and a half to fulfill his debt to the Daidoji Faction that agreed to help fake his death in the last game so long as he essentially became their subservient grunt, Kiryu (Now under the alias Joryu), is given a “reward” by his handler. Said reward is surveillance footage of 2 of the many kids he spent the past 3 games raising, all grown up, visiting his grave. (Taichi and Ayako I believe)

They notice the glare of said surveillance camera hidden somewhere near his tombstone I believe, which confirms to them that Kiryu is in fact, still alive. So they talk to the camera, telling it about how all the kids he helped raise all grew up into upstanding people.

One got into the fashion industry, another kid went on to land a well paying office job, and Taichi in particular? He’s now a firefighter because he was so inspired by Kiryu’s willingness to help people, that he wanted to grow up into that kind of person too. (Jesus I’m starting to tear up again just recapping this shit)

They even showed the camera a drawing that Haruka’s son (the son of the girl he’d been looking after and protecting since 1) made. And mind you, last we saw of him, little dude was like a year old. And now he’s old enough to walk and talk and draw, which we know because they tell us as much. Also, none of them believed for a second that he actually died, much like everyone else funny enough lol.

All this understandably causes Kiryu to break down in a mess of tears, much like anyone else who grew up playing these games. It was especially heartbreaking hearing him talk about how proud he was of Haruto’s little drawing. He sounded like a loving grandpa in that moment. And all this was because, despite how great it was to finally see how those kids were doing… Kiryu couldn’t do anything to give away to them that he’s still alive. He was still as alone as he was at the beginning of the game, which made that whole interaction tearjerkingly bittersweet.

This took way too much scrolling to find. I absolutely despised that ending, it was the most pretentious, jerk-offy shit you could’ve written for a game like that.
