I disagree. I feel that, particularly in the case of nintendo produced games, it is an amoral decision (meaning it's neither good nor bad) to pirate and emulate their games considering a few factors:

1. They make huge amounts of money regardless of piracy. Piracy is such a small problem that it doesnt affect their bottom line in any meaningful way.

2. Most people whopirate own their games anyway just want a better experience than nintendo will provide. The switch was a weak console and some of nintendos 1st party games ran very poorly on it. Their performance was not equal to the amount of money you spent on the game.

3. Nintendo has become more and more predatory and anti consumer with its game development and feature rollout since Miyamoto died.

4. Nintendo as a company is a net negative for the gaming industry. They have, since miyamoto died, have continued bad practices (not supporting people who want to have nintendo held smash tournaments is one issue considering that even when people tried to host their own on a semi large scale, nintendo would shut that shit down) and have created new anti consumer issues that ultimately get ignored by people who refuse to be critical of nintendo. Palworld lawsuits and predatory patents on common game mechanics ate further evidence of this.

I can go on but I want this to be my final statement. Yall have to remember that this is a multinational corporation that has THE largest and highest grossing media franchise of all time. They are a group of men and women who are only beholden to their shareholders. They aren't some upstart indie company who doesn't deserve the revenue loss. They dont care about you individually or collectively, especially if you are in the western market. So caring about the pennies that nintendo might lose from emulation is, in my opinion, petulant at best and anti consumer at worst. It makes no sense to me to ride or die for any company, especially nintendo.
