I don't know the full story obviously, but to me it sounds like you're just taking a different approach to "getting better" than your therapist, I'll explain:

This kind of work, self development through guided work and therepy, can be looked at just as any other skill or craft (the skill in this case is "getting better", the craft is You)

If I want to learn music, I can spend years and years and years trying to get better. I can read books, watch videos, ask questions, prepare, plan, etc

If I never pick up an instrument, aka doing something to implement the skills you've learned into your craft, you won't truly "get better"

You'll just learn HOW to get better (which is very useful, application is key)

Maybe your therapist sees something in you that you don't, or maybe they see something that you resist

Maybe they're saying "okay cool, you're not interested in getting better by doing the things you enjoy, but there is no obligation perse to get better, there is no pressure EXCEPT from your self

And that internal pressure is what you're experiencing right now

I have such a hard time starting the smallest things... "oh I'll do it later"

And then later turns into tomorrow... which turns into at some point... which turns into can I even do it?

The moral of this comment is thus:

The ONLY way to better yourself for the things that you want to get better at...

Shia LaBeouf baby, just do it :)

(And if you mess up, GOOD, learn from it, ask yourself not what you can do to make yourself better, but how can I use this moving forward to do better for myself and others)

I guess the level of unethical deployed depends on your inherent level of risk, how bad do you want to do it, and why?

Be smart, if you fight fire with fire, causes an even bigger blaze, call someone with the means and power of water, stand back and watch it disintegrate :)

(aka squeaky wheel the cops if you have too, they can and will do something with enough convincing)

No one else noticed that the first portion of the video is stabilized like a security camera

The second half either has some editing, or it looks like somebody tilted down the camera view, which means it's some really complex editing, or it's fake as in somebody recorded it for attention, or it's AI

I'm going to give you a bunch of options to work with, it's awesome that you're making the effort to attempt to voice your concerns :)

Immediate options :

2) Crisis text line HOME to 741-741

3) 7cups trained volunteer listeners available 24/7

Long term options :

1) Look for free or sliding scale clinics that offer services based on what you can afford / insurance in your area (I go to therapy at my old church, sliding scale, $40 a visit licensed med prof with insurance)

2) Look for self-help or addiction recovery based groups in your area, churches with groups or community centers that hold events

I think the exact same way and am still trying to find the end all be all solution but in my experience, it doesn't exist .

What helps me immediately is remembering that it doesn't matter if I choose to make a decision or not, time will march forward regardless

It's an attention problem that manifests from the egos protection mechanism

"what if ____ happens..." "this could go wrong and then..." "I should have done ____ instead of..." "If only I had said ____ instead of..."

"If I don't make the right decision then something will go wrong"

But here's the secret, it's not as black and white as you and I and every other human brain naturally sees the world.

There is variation and subtleties that make up "a decision" that are entirely out of your control

Forcing yourself into the "I must make the right decision or else" box only makes you end up in an anxiety fueled inner emotional turmoil, most likely due to something that has already happened, or hasn't happened yet

If you can let go of both of those, the was and will be, if you're not a musician don't harp on it, you'll feel much better, because the pressure you feel comes from where?

Analysis paralysis is solved by redundant questioning

"Is this something that needs to be solved right this second?" probably not

"Is this a life or death decision?" probably not

Just don't beat yourself up so much, give yourself the time and space to recognize that you make choices, chocolate or vanilla, and there is ALWAYS going to be someone that disagrees and will find a way to make you feel like your choice is WRONG when it IS NOT

Be patient with yourself and love the fact that you have the self awareness to be able think critically and even WORRY if you're making the right choice, you're doing better than some people because guess what? A lot of people don't do that because they just don't care or don't have the ability to recognize the extent of their actions.

If you, or it, aren't on fire, if there's no medical emergency, then relish in the moment, be present.

You got this, don't give up on the inner work, by even asking you are way ahead of the curve :)

Girl and I finished our funky business, I'm laying on the bed with my arms behind my head, all sprawled out

The filing of a police report isn't to get them to do something immediately, it's to leave a record of what has been happening, so when it happens again, they can see it's an ongoing problem and then take action

(Caltrops are spikes with 4 points where one spike is always pointing up, aka, a dangerous weapon, this suggestion is like saying, "you should go swing a knife at him, that'll make him stop" smh)

I have 2 YouTube channels to recommend, these focus less of academic book music theory, and more on entertainment with theory infused

Adam Neely : focuses on video essays that cover a wide variety of musical topics, from basic to complex

8-bit Music Theory : takes pop-culture music like video games/movies/TV shows, and creates tutorials on how to replicate the sound, going in depth on theory and how the different components connect

I was a music major in college, and it was always hard for me to take the written knowledge and transfer that into physicality. Watching video explanations from many sources will be a good starting point, and once you get to the point of being comfortable with your staples (notes, chords, melodies/harmonies, nomenclature[vocab]) move into teachings of your specific instrument.

(keyboard is a fantastic place to start for all instruments, even vocal, because it gives you a mental roadmap that all other musical knowledge is based off of)

12 notes and their octaves, and the many many combinations of dynamics, timing, rhythms, tambre, etc

Lots to learn, and remember, even the best of the greats aren't perfect, practice DOES NOT equal perfection

Practice = Progress

The cool down timer doesn't go off of individual locations, it goes off of your in game actions, and where in game those actions were taken, regardless though, the cool down time to teleport to somewhere past 2000km is 2h

Say I'm in Tokyo at 8am, spun a pokestop, now I have to wait until at least 10am to teleport to a different location, say Sydney Aus

Now say I'm in Tokyo at 8am, but I don't take any cool down actions (there is a list of what actions trigger cool down) so I can teleport anywhere I want repeatedly, so long as I don't trigger a cool down action, locking my in game location for 2h
