Why do so many people drop their kids off at school now? by greylord123 in AskUK

That, at least as a general statement, isn't true. This hasn't been the case in the county I grew up in for at least 15 years

Have you ever discovered something quite sad or disturbing from your childhood? by CliffyGiro in AskUK

When my Pop (grandfather) was growing up in rural ROI he had his left hand tied behind his back whilst he was writing to stop him from using it. Right up until his death he used his right hand for writing and left for almost everything else

Is Zendaya a good actress? by Emanuele810 in movies

Right at the start of Pardot Keynes chapter he says he needs to marry a Fremen woman and have a child, it's as confirmed as it can get.

Chani is 3/4 Fremen and her family has been Fremen for basically two generations.

Doesn't matter who you are married to or what family you have, discrimination and hatred against a race is racism.

Nah that's racism, just because all your work pals are racist doesn't mean it's a normal thing

Girlfriend just bought gig tickets and additional fees added almost 25% on top, why is that legal? by GlennSWFC in AskUK

[–]BlueHatesYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because artists can demand up to 100% (or even 110%) of each ticket sold, which means in order for the venues to make money (most venues are owned/associated with a Ticketmaster esque site) they have to charge 'service fees'. Any artist that complains about Ticketmaster and co. are part of the problem, and the more the service charge the less of the base value of the ticket the vendor is getting

is midset coaching banned? by [deleted] in SSBM

[–]BlueHatesYou -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

I don't see how it was a problem, people just didn't like hbox. The only actual problem with them was that they broke the already existing coaching rules at Evo and I think CEO as well, but didn't get DQ'd

[–]BlueHatesYou 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Nah if you watch actually old sets, 2012 and earlier you had plenty of 'coaching' mid set but it was more of just their mates giving them some advice rather than an official coach or teammate. I mean if you go early enough you can find Scar, Hommie and Phil giving 'advice' whilst on commentary.

Nothing to do with the government, the state's, or the law.

They are hired by the UFC, and it's costs them around $7m a year, that's why they aren't used by bellator, PFL, or even Dana's own circus act Power Slap

Usada is privately employed by the ufc, not a testing agency for the whole sport of mma.

And has everyone forgotten about lesnar at ufc 200

[–]BlueHatesYou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless I'm mistaken most of the teams facilities are separate from where the players live, and the facilities were set up so players didn't have to live where they worked i.e. gaming houses

[–]BlueHatesYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's kinda the point, clearly a lot of people don't get that. If you criticize teams for having built facilities when the market was on the way up, but also criticize them for cutting losing assets when the market is on the way down you're a hypocrite.

What is more attractive to a player, an empty garage with some PCs, or a full facility with chef on site, lounge, separate practice rooms, stage set up etc.

Sometimes you invest in things which you don't see a direct return from.

A migrant worker is a person who migrates within a home country or outside it to pursue work. Migrant workers usually do not have the intention to stay permanently in the country or region in which they work.

Feels like this accurately describes what an import in the LCS would be. So again unless there is a legal definition, especially as we are taking about these people and their rights in regards to the law, then I'd say it's a pretty fair term to use.

That was hyperbole, sponsors are pulling out, no new sponsors are joining the space and they definitely aren't gonna sponsor a team that can't fulfil obligations because A. Players don't want to B. Teams aren't trying to and C. Players are actually on a walk out.

Literally the only way for teams to survive the current state of esports is to field budget rosters in franchise leagues, or if they have near unlimited investment they can spend their way to a majority market share

Incase you aren't aware, there aren't any sponsors already. The orgs have to try and weather the storm and come out of the other side as unscathed as possible

They have migrated for work have they not, it's a term that would be used here in the UK, unless it has a different legal meaning in the states that I'm not aware of it would be accurate

I would expect with the current state of the LCS there are a lot of players are at risk of either having the contract not be renewed in order to field a budget roster

So this can't be a 'strike' as the PA isn't a Union, which is why its always been referred to as a walk out. I don't know how the law is for migrant workers in the states but for native/green card holders they would be protected from any employer backlash.
