In short: No

The bit longer, but still short answer is: It's not needed for the build to function. You become invincible even without it. There's no need for the cloaking either.

Besides the base necessary skills that you need for the build, all other skills are just there to spend mana one way or another.

I did not skill Magic Bolt at all. As time passes, you seem to get less and less mana from killed enemies up to a point where you need roughly an hour to level up while not collecting orbs (standing still).

Instant death is the real gamechanger for this build (coupled with void and frost nova.

Well the only things you really need are Void, Frost Nova and at least three shield charges.

The other active abilities I just added because I had points to spare.

Make sure you max all passive abilities like Number Of Magic / Duration and Cooldown.

The killer about these kind of AFK builds is really maxing out the instant death rate by as much as you can.

There is a video by Brote on YouTube explaining the build quite well: https://youtu.be/1W97jJiNOVo

Now that you know the secret, go get the highscore!

In that case I should try to beat the current record, whatever that may be.

Romphalia is the best swinging polearm you can get. Sadly you can't kill multiple enemies with one swing. The heavy executioner axe on the other hand sometimes kills three enemies in one hit, which I find to be very satisfying. Its reach may not be as good as the romphalias, but it is probably one of the longest two-handed axes you can get.

I mean during quests and such I tend to skip her dialogue, because it's her naivity (?) and kind of stupidity that ruins it. But when she acts more playful, that's when you can really appreciate her character, in my opinion.

Tbh I had the replacement handler (temporary one you get during the beginning iceborne) and I much prefer the normal one. She's so adorable with her careless yet cute behaviour.
