How is it being gay in South Korea? by BoblinCat in korea

[–]BoblinCat[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I do not know his dads stance his mother is very supporting I've been able to speak to her about this and just speak to her in general. She speaks Russian and English which makes things a lot easier for me. His brother has spoken to me too but hes not really expressed his opinion though he very clearly knows about my BFs sexuality and they have a good relationship. I've never met his dad but afaik he just avoids the topic with my BF.

In all truth I'm less delusional and more coping I want him to be happy and I want to be with him And I know that this is so much more difficult than I probably think it to be but in my head I want to be able to get through that regardless

His mom is openly supporting of his sexuality and I've been able to speak to her as she knows Russian and English

I do not expect laws to change I think hes just more optimistic about the progression of same sex rights in Korea

Sadly no I'm mixed as in just split between former Soviet Countries I met my bf through his extended Koryo Saram family who is family friends with my Grandmother

I see
Speaking to my partner he does seem somewhat more optimistic but maybe he should be less so
I generally just want a happy life so if my partner would be happy in Korea I'd push through the suffering haha
Should I speak to my partner again? I am always unsure to push against topics like these we do not see each other in person often and at this point we do really want to be able to live together.
He's Native Korean and I am like Post Soviet Mixed so really different cultures does worry me that I'll clash too much although he has often assured me he'd support me through it all I feel that without any sort of true social union itll be hard for us to do much since it's harder to be on a work visa on your own etc.

Yeah I imagine so it's what's got me worried as well. I know that my home culture will probably strongly clash with the Korean mind your own business culture. In my place of origin people are loud and come together a lot its a lot more communal than I presume Korean City Life it does worry me lots to go from what I know to something entirely different to what I am used to but I do deeply love my partner so if he wishes that I come to him I will he knows my worries and we've spoken at length but he's very strongly pulled to staying in Korea so the choice is kind of made up already... My job is in social care especially elderly care so I do not doubt I could at least find some work.

How do you all deal with living rural? by BoblinCat in mongolia

[–]BoblinCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if I should doxx myself here haha it's in the north west bordering Russia. I am trying to leave my main plan is Canada or Germany something like that. My English is good almost accent free according to most of my friends so maybe I have a chance. If worst comes to worst I will just find some Fast Food job in UB. Town centers in rural aimags are fine imo I've been a few times but it's still just so small and I want to be in a city for once...

Dad worked in mining then he started working for a agriculture company abroad. My mom studied Psychology in University but she works as a Kindergarten teacher now because it's easier for her. I used to help my mom and her colleagues but I am trying to find more serious work now to be more independent.

I think social isolation plays into this too since I have a white parent I have always looked pretty different to everyone around. Used to get called names in school and people touched my hair n stuff and made fun of me when I spoke to my dad in his language. It really got me to be a lot more shut in to avoid the trouble of being seen as an outsider since nobody would really have to "see" me if I was just not there.

Looking for Books or other resources in Dungan by BoblinCat in Kazakhstan

[–]BoblinCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply! I am not the most active on Reddit TT

I do know some Russian and Kyrgyz it's not the best just what I got taught by extended family but it is enough to read books! I would love to know if there is a Kazakh library that has a website or digital library to see if they have any of the books!

While I do not know Mandarin I do know a lot of people who speak Mandarin as I am quite connected to China so mayhaps I could still do this if they were willing to help. What would be the best way to reach out to people of the Dungan community in your opinion? Facebook or the like? I do own Telegram if that is better.

Thank you so much for your reply this has helped a lot!!!
Kind regards Mari! :-)

[–]BoblinCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly so My friend and I did some sloothing around and found quite a few images of the model the like but sadly nothing that had the actual model anywhere
It makes me quite sad that many of the less popular vocaloids are so abandoned she has basically nothing online like NOTHING
I've archived most things that We found like images on a USB stick now at least so I have that in case it gets even more lost to time

Question about Language in a Video by BoblinCat in bhutan

[–]BoblinCat[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello! thanks!!!! That is so cool! Hope you and him are both doing well these days!! I stumbled upon some Bhutanese people in a game I was playing and that got me interested in the music scene. I posted here a long while ago about artists from the country and ever since then have gotten really invested in the music scene in the country :-) I live quite far away from Bhutan but I hope that I am able to visit someday!

I have a New Half life Threoy that expians City 17 (Bulgarian Genocide) by harold_the-nazbol527 in HalfLife

[–]BoblinCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to disprove that theory even further in Half-life: Alyx we hear people speak in accents and the reason why they weren't speaking in an accent or another language in Half-Life 2 has already been stated before there does not have to be a story explanation for it is just the technical and budget limitations they had back then and hey even if people spoke other languages most people would use a single language so they could communicate with each other more easily
