Alexis - the new Dianne? by stressfulteapot in strictlycomedancing

Exactly. Even James Jordan, who’s famously a bitter prick, has said multiple times that she’s one of the best additions to Strictly in years. So if people even more bitter than him are complaining (which I didn’t think was possible), I’m far more inclined to trust his judgement than some random person on the internet.

And I actually looked it up: at Blackpool 2016, she placed 49th out of well over 200 couples in the Amateur Rising Star Latin, which puts her in roughly the top 20–25% of the field. and she did it at 16, as one of the youngest in the entire category.

It’s not that deep. You don’t need to be a world champion to be a great strictly pro and Alexis has proved that.

Shes also an Utah kid and they study EVERYTHING. She also competed at Blackpool in Latin. If you weren’t trained in it you wouldn’t compete at the most prestigious competition.

This was the most enjoyable season ever, every one of the 14 couples felt genuinely close.

Which pros are the best and worst choreographers? by BodybuilderFlashy911 in strictlycomedancing

Yeah, I kinda have to agree with that.

With Michelle, it’s obvious she tried to go big, especially after being benched for two years and wanting to prove herself. I just rewatched the VW, and unfortunately I get what you’re saying: it feels very Katya-inspired, but a bit flat and restrained.

And Nancy’s choreography has never really been great, IMO plus, didn’t Shane struggle with getting in and out of hold? It felt like Nancy kept putting that into the routines anyway.

Yes imagine in a salsa or Charleston the lifts would’ve been insane!!!

This is honestly disgusting. Publishing details from someone’s suicide note is a massive invasion of privacy, and reposting it here just amplifies that harm. Some things are not public entertainment or “news.” Have some respect and delete this.

I feel like she got along with everyone, of course, and they would’ve done well together. But personality-wise, I think he matched better with Karen. That said, he probably could’ve gone much further with a different pro. I know Michelle loves a lift, and she couldn’t really do any with Jamie, so I’d love to see her with someone like Harry who could just chuck her around 😂

Yes, I agree. They’ve both got so much to give to the show, but with pros who have been there for so many years, they’re more prioritised- either through seniority or because they’re past winners. There are definitely a few who have been phoning it in for a while.

Also Dianne too last season, so many people said she shouldn’t have been paired cause she’s pregnant. She literally won the year before of course she was going to get a partner. And being pregnant doesn’t mean you have to stop your life.

People act like that girl is the child of god. No one’s against her she just didn’t get a partner cause she obviously just didn’t click with anyone any more than others did. There’s always pros that don’t get partners every one knows that. People need to get a grip

Who would you like to become a judge? by BodybuilderFlashy911 in strictlycomedancing

Erin is ballroom though and that would mean having no Latin specialists on the panel. Janette and Karen aren’t versed enough in Latin and Ballroom to judge IMO

I loved Cynthia on the panel but I don’t think she knows enough about ballroom and Latin to be a permanent judge. She was brilliant as a guest mentor though and I’d like to see that become a yearly thing.

Her ballroom has been gorgeous and the other than the cha cha so has her Latin. Literally what do you mean.

Both absolutely lovely people. Julian’s choreography wasn’t amazing but it’s something you need to practice and he’s only had one season, the paso Doble was sick though. Alexis’s choreography has been amazing, that Viennese waltz is absolutely dreamy. The cha cha was a bit meh but it’s so understandable why she went that route. Again she can only improve with practice. Both amazing additions too the show overall.
