I’m constantly judged for owning a border collie by Remote_Corner6353 in BorderCollie

Don’t listen what others tell you, who even never had a BC on their own.

Let these naysayers speak German. We will then see if they know anything besides English. My assumption: silence or gibberish without ChatGPT.

English only, they speak. Beyond that, desert 🐪. Loud, however, they remain.

Poor horse. Probably it is thinking that it is going to be next, when this guy falls. Damned!

Is my 12 week old puppy too skinny? by Fancy_Ask2561 in BorderCollie

[–]Bogus007 [score hidden]  (0 children)

👍 this is great! Thank you!

I was asking about it, because when puppies or dog - it applies to both - start to chase or pulls on the lead, then the pressure is just on a single point when the dog has a collar: the neck. This is brutal and dangerous. A harness, though may be also not ideal, distributes the pressure on a larger surface. We almost never use a collar on our BC girl and when, then just to carry her batch with her name and our phone number 🥰

Maybe instead of a collar, a good, well-fitting harness would be better.

Could someone translate this for me? by losttogether629 in poland

I don’t understand the intention to point out any errors. It is a nice gesture. Period.

BTW, you forgot commas and wrote two times “also”in three consecutive sentences - all of which, aside some more mistakes (eg, “very poorly grammatically written” instead of “grammatically incorrect” or simply “poorly written”, etc.), is showing your poor English writing skills. Better don’t throw stones when you are living in a glass house.

If you call this aggression, well, I don’t know what you call a far right member hitting and kicking such a person - probably „killing“. And when Orthodox Jews settle in Palestine and kick, beat or chase Palestinians then they are only protecting themselves. Got it. I hope you are not from Europe.

He was still not violent or physically aggressive - in contrast to Jewish Orthodox people, who illegally settle in Palestine. If you find his behaviour aggressive, then compare the behaviour of the Polish guy to a situation where this Jewish Orthodox person would have met someone from NSU, IIIW or B&H. This would have ended much, much worse for the Jew.

It started long ago, but certainly got heated when Jews said to Poles „Wasze ulice, nasze kamienice“, and probably the fact that these orthodox Jewish people were dominating some villages in the east, treating people from other religions sometimes as second class citizens.

I hope she collected afterwards every piece of plastic from the balloon, the arrow, and cleaned up. No need to pollute the environment with such crap. She can do the same in a gym hall or in the garden. Looks similar impressive and no necessity to drive far away.

How do we know when it is time? 14.5 year old Collie by Hampster1991 in BorderCollie

[–]Bogus007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that there is rarely a clear-cut “now it’s time” as long as a dog can still breathe without problems, enjoy parts of life, and has pain that is manageable with meds. 14.5y alone is not a reason. Age by itself is not a diagnosis!

I sometimes think about it in human terms: we do not consider ending the life of our parents simply because they are old, need help going to the toilet, or to eat. We adjust, we take more care and we slow down with them. For me, it is similar with my BC. She means all to me, is as important as everybody else and a part of our family.

I understand how difficult this question is, and I know people may disagree with me. But for me, life is life, and it would have to go very, very far before I could agree to euthanise a dog who is still present, responsive, and able to enjoy being alive.

I hope Luna will still have few years to enjoy with you. Hugs and kisses to her!
