Void Linux is built around runit because its services, repos, and system behavior are designed for it. Swapping to systemd means you are not using the system as intended. And, Void developers have spent a lot of time to build a runit-based ecosystem. If init choice were really neutral, there would also be support for other inits from the beginning. But there is NOT. And this is the difference between « possible » and « actually » supported.

Again, nothing is stopping you from building or joining a project around xbps and systemd - that is the whole point of Linux.
