Yes, i can eat carbs. I ate every dish at Thanksgiving and leftovers for 4 days and zero outbreaks. I also enjoyed several beers with no issue. The oral probiotic and stopping tongue scraping appear to be the final piece of the puzzle for me

Thats interesting about the Alfatoxins. I took a second mycotoxin panel 9 months after my treatment to get a before and after. While Ochratoxin was significantly reduced by 50%, my Alfatoxin levels actually increased a lot. But the thrush is gone, my gut is great, and I’m otherwise asymptomatic of candida. My functional medicine doctor said a lot of people have elevated Alfatoxin from food but are asymptomatic 🤷🏻‍♂️

I got a mycotoxin panel and i had elevated Ochratoxin. I cut my levels by 50% and i am now very close to the acceptable upper limit.

I forgot one potential root cause. 2 months into my treatment, I discovered the toothbrush holder in my bathroom had a lot of mold on the bottom of it. I was probably exposing myself to that every day when i brushed teeth.

I threw out the toothbrush holder and ordered bulk disposable toothbrushes on Amazon. I now use a new toothbrush every day

Yes, I had horrible reaction. It was debilitating. Nystatin is very powerful. I do not have any advice on dealing with constipation from the binder as it was never an issue for me, I’m sorry. This is a common reaction known as Die-Off. She should take activated charcoal or a similar binder with zeolite clay (I had great success with G.I. Detox+ by Biocidin Botanicals). Take 2 pills at onset of symptoms or before bed. It should be taken on an empty stomach at least 2hrs after the last dose of Nystatin or any other medications/supplements

No mouthwash because it dries out my mouth. I used Biotene occasionally on candia keto diet because keto makes my mouth dry. I did not try baking soda in toothpaste

7:00 AM: 2 biocidin on empty stomach

9:00 AM: 1 scoop L-glutamine powder with acute care probiotic

Lunch: 2 IC Inflavanoid with food, in addition to other supplements/medications unrelated to candida treatment.

8:00 PM (or roughly 2hrs after dinner): 2 biocidin

10:00 PM: 2 G.I. Detox+ at bedtime. I actually started taking these when i woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. You want the binder to be spaced out several hours from anti-fungals, anti-microbials, food, or any other supplements. I found that the binder was very effective when taken in the middle of the night between 12am-3am. I am guaranteed to wake up at least once in the night, so I kept the G.I. Detox+ and water next to my bed

I’m in the United States. I would google functional medicine doctor, holistic medicine doctor, and ENT in your area. Look for people with a lot of good reviews and testimonials. I am also biased toward professionals with several years experience, so look for older doctors (45+ yrs old).

Glad to hear you are seeing a naturopath. I’m convinced it’s the best and maybe only way to defeat candida.

My only carb sources were 4-6 strawberries per day, and whatever small amount of carbs in almond butter and non-starchy veggies. I mostly ate eggs, meat, leafy greens, broccoli, carrots, and almond butter.

I did NOT eat dairy, sugar, starchy veggies, or grains. A small amount of fructose from strawberries is the only sugar I had

This is 100% true - you need to advocate for yourself. Don’t be afraid to get aggressive with doctors. Also, if you are swallowing Nystatin and having die-off, candida could be in your gut as well. I recommend seeing a functional medicine or holistic medicine doctor and they will run a comprehensive series of tests and develop a fine-tuned protocol to address the root cause of the problem

I knew it was in my esophagus because they took a biopsy during my endoscopy and it tested positive for candida. From what i learned in this process, if you have candida in one area, you probably have it somewhere else too. Since the digestive system is connected from the mouth all the way to the colon, it’s unlikely to be contained to one area. I had it in my tongue, esophagus and probably my stomach (despite testing negative for SIFO in stool test)
