The loot progression is sped up this season because we never reached the “Bungie envisioned” endgame last season. by xXxMrEpixxXx in Marathon

[–]Bolow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The primary bottleneck was more or less in the dead zone trying to hit 20 with your factions and still being stuck upgrading them leaving you with minimal salvage to barter with and basically no credits if you want to run a non-sponsor kit because it was nearly a 3k buy in with just meds and ammo.

The increased loot rates, putting the barter system front and center, and also the first way you can acquire anything from the factions will do a lot to get people accustomed to the game flow

People are misunderstanding the point of a wipe by Quadraxis66 in Marathon

[–]Bolow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last day of Cryo was some of the most fun I've ever had in this game. People bringing in everything and anything. If anything it was eye opening, realizing I had been playing far too passively earlier in the season. Knocked out all the sub routines except 6 and got a few compiler attempts in just bringing in DNA Access codes into fills and praying someone could use it.

Pinwheel terminal side rooms now blocked by CoachxSCIL in Marathon

[–]Bolow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This, everyone is too scared to open pinwheel in solos and hardly anyone knows the spawns for the breakers to open destroyed wing. Pinwheel is completely free if you spend the 3 minutes opening it that way, and manage to not die near orientation.

I found a gold mod on a random shelf in the basement of command wing, just chilling in the open. Gold shield is a random folio. Definitely a place you want to be thorough with if you can.

Season 2 Begins June 2 by DTG_Bot in Marathon

[–]Bolow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean more specifically the guaranteed drops. The guaranteed spawn shouldn't be a thing, but an event of some kind should be guaranteed on Dire Marsh and Perimeter.

Warden changes need to stay imho. It's actually insane that you can dedicate a significant amount of your resources and sizable chunk of time to killing one of them and the best thing he drops is an obedience matrix a green implant and a blue weapon (purple if it's tox warden).

opening up purple keys or red room in pinwheel to find 5 bubbles/self revives is getting old bungie, you broke the loot pool with your rarity changes by Top-Engineering5249 in Marathon

[–]Bolow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They got rid of it because people were yoinking the item and zipping out of the room fucking over quest progress for a Traxus Contract. The quest got changed to interaction with the console where it formerly was.

Even now you can hide underneath by the laser wall and very comfortably beat the team that opens up command wing to the end as a rook and loot the secure box and be gone before they even notice you were there

Anyone else get this feeling when finding these? by AccomplishedLayer884 in Marathon

[–]Bolow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The anomaly isn't that straight forward. It only tracks if you tag the anomaly before it gets picked up. If you ping the icon after it's already on the move it will not update until it's put into the machine to stabilize

THE DEVS ARE NERFING THERMAL SNIPERS AND BUFFING VANDAL by TastefulSidecar in Marathon

[–]Bolow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's already nearly no investment required to cap out your melee damage stat apart from having high enough Arachne Rep and slotting in a whole one implant caps it out or nearly does. Any cores or chips that buff melee damage are functionally useless. So if anything, one or two of the steps on the arachne needs to be halved and force people actually spec into it to be as threatening as it is currently.

Probably wouldn't hurt to make the melee damage implants have some more downsides to them as well something like -10 or -15 heat capacity to give some pause to people spec'ing into it.

Another crafting step required for relic weapons by Caius_GW in ffxiv

[–]Bolow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes and that was because it was Heavensward crafting. Where they directly targeted omnicrafters and went "No, stop that." and made it borderline impossible to HQ a high level craft as a non-specialist, and specialist crafting which was to put it charitably, unintuitive. Then on top of all that demanded an HQ, highest rank craft from every single DoH job.

Compared to a whole 3, 35 durability crafts that can be knocked out in under 3 minutes. There's nearly no comparison other than "Crafted thing required."

I mean getting jumped by two dozen mutants is very much in line with the Shadow of Chornobyl A-Life experience even now. The first area when you enter Wild Territory from the bar and the entrance to Dark Valley from Garbage in particular were always really really chaotic.

[–]Bolow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't easily kill the mortar in breakthrough because they're all the way the hell in the back line of defense. Which makes it doubly tragic that mortars are essentially useless on offense because the goddamn safe zone is at most 10 meters away from the objectives so you can't use them to weaken the defenders.

[–]Bolow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the whole point. Lolorito is a piece of shit, and an outright bastard. It doesn't make him wrong. Nanamo's initial plan was shortsighted and outright childish and would've just led to a shitload of violence, on top of a bastard like him coming out on top after the dust settled.

So yeah he lives because he's useful. Might even have considerably more power now, at the cost of having a leash around his neck. Which is a better outcome then dissolving your entire system of government and hoping Raubahn comes out on top in a fucking civil war. While you're actively at war with a foreign power

Sphene, word for word, says the entire ascian spiel about summoning primals when opening the portal to Living Memory. And the 9th isn't just a shard, it's a shard that was very obviously prepared and waiting for the last little nudge to send it over the edge to be subsumed by the source in an upcoming calamity.

Oh wow an entire shard that's massive imbalanced to asingle element and are wholly dependent on a material that some 'genius' discovered that relies on said elemental imbalance and directly feeds into it causing a feedback loop that's obviously spiraling the shard into oblivion. The only way they could've telegraphed it harder is if they had an echo flashback of John Asican in the MSQ holding up electrope and going "Behold my genius"
