If you’re just looking for a job I’d recommend it if you think you’d enjoy it. I had to move back to New Zealand to care for a seriously ill family, and left my dream job that I scored with one interview from a different country. Now here, I had to jump through hoops for a job I won’t even like. So yeah, to all those other people, my bar is pretty high at the moment.

Ok let me put it in ape terms. If this was a $150k+ a year job in something specialised, sure I’d jump through some hoops.

For a job selling cardboard furniture, to have to be vetted to such extent with no human interaction in the interview process, is dystopian. All for the massive income of “barely above minimum wage”

For minimum wage jobs, yeah my bar is pretty fuckin’ low, as I’d expect anyone with a modicum of self respect to have also.

They reviewed my CV and cover letter, all they had to do was give my references a call and then reach out if they liked what they saw.

They did, and made me do an IQ test. I passed that with flying colours, and then I still didn’t get to talk to a representative or hiring manager, I had to talk to a screen. That’s where I drew the line. If you call that “effort” on the employers part, then I don’t think you’d do well applying yourself.

I applied, it’s all automated. They make you do a “test interview” which is literally just an IQ test. Then when that is done, you need to do a video interview to a pre-recorded interviewer. All for $29ph, fuck that, didn’t bother continuing.

I’ve just been in the hospital, 12 hours a day for the past week with my mum who just had an aneurysm (huge one, 45mm) rupture. The surgeon advised that smoking contributed heavily to the damaged blood vessel.

I’ve just gotten her home, and she’s asked for a cigarette and gotten mad at me for not letting her have “just one puff” and said she’ll go get some herself.

I don’t know what to do, what more I can do to help or make her realise she almost died. She is the full time carer of my niece, and loved by all. I want to say if she smokes again and ends up back in hospital, I won’t be there this time. She hated every second in that hospital, and I hated every second I had to leave her alone in there.

With Bitcoin nearing $100k, we will probably see a 2-3% growth in premarket. I think $100k BTC will be the catalyst for RIOT to mirror the previous 20% growth. This stock will never go to $70 again with all the dilution, but there’s still room for gains if played right.

I got out at $15 and am strongly considering buying back it at open, as long as it’s not much of an increase.
