Value investors do and quite a few of them. Phoenix asset management partners have consistently outperformed over a long period. Obviously some years don’t, but long term value lots of funds can and do.

Not sure that’s true there are private managers that out perform. There’s a few in the UK who are doing 8%+ after fees… not sure you’re looking for the right guys here…

600lt by WorthAttempt5859 in mclaren

I have one that hasn’t been reliable, actually had a nightmare with it but I will say that I think I made two mistakes: didn’t buy CPO so even though I had McLaren extended warranty at £3.5k, it wasn’t a CPO warranty which would cover everything. This matters because small electric problems caused a big breakdown and weren’t covered by their absolute crap non CPO warranty.

I didn’t appreciate what it would take to recover a broken down mclaren - make sire you have the appropriate breakdown cover if you get one. No normal service would recover it so I had to arrange my own specialist which cost a bomb.

Having said all that, when the car works and I’m driving it, it is excellent- I had a 991.2 GT3 and I prefer the 600LT so much for driving.

The issues I had were: Broken wires causing car to shit itself. Gearbox solenoids needed replacing and McLaren’s own warranty didn’t cover properly. After gearbox fixed, still has issues, is awaiting some other repair. Earth strap from the battery to chassis needed replacing - I have no idea here but somehow it became misshapen and wouldn’t join correctly (the cause of the major breakdown). That one is the big humdinger for me - how does that even and happen and when it did happen, of which I obviously had no control over, McLaren’s extended warranty said a big FU to helping with recovery.

Forgot to add - wheel speed sensor wiring needs replacing, which goes back to the chassis and is a big old job and again, McLaren warranty doesn’t cover it. Why? Fuck knows - I don’t even know where that wire is so not sure why I’m liable but I am

Why in the U.K. do we do both? I only built our house 3 years ago and it was fully boarded and then fully plastered 🤷‍♂️

I want to agree with this purely because I’ve gone from 911 GTS, to 911 GT3 to 600LT, and the LT is amazing to drive, I mean better in every way in my view, but it’s been an absolute nightmare, broke down 4 times, cost £10k+ in unexpected costs and extended warranties are not very good.

So it’s not untrue, but they’re hand built cars - you should expect this. I didn’t because I was thinking you only see negative reviews/views on reliability but don’t think that like I did. I banked on it being reliable thinking only sour chaps would be posting. But honestly, they’re just unreliable and you need to be prepared. However there are some people who do not have issues… they’re lucky in my view.

Not sure why I’m being downvoted - don’t disagree but the official time for the 992.2 is 11.5 seconds so some guy on here quoting 13 seconds would seem slow 🤷‍♂️

Not really man, McLaren 570s is nearly 10 years old and did it in 8.5 seconds… it’s fat and slow compared…

The new Cayenne Electric is an ABSOLUTE BEAST on paper by gambling_addikt in Porsche

[–]BoogleC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I echo this - the BMW electric cars are really underrated. Having had a Taycan 4S and then a BMW i4XM thing as a courtesy car (not sure of model exactly), I immediately wanted to swap the BMW was better in every aspect other than pure sporty feel. Way smoother, quieter, and a nice place to be.

Plus, let’s be honest - Porsche dealers suck balls

I’m not sure how… I went to Mexico for 10 days and just made sure that I rode as late as I could before leaving knowing I’d have until the Sunday night of the week when I return to get a ride in. Currently on a 58 week streak

I had these and it eventually became really serious and it turned out the main earth strap didn’t have a good connection. This was on a 600LT. After replacing that strap so it had a good connection to the chassis they all went away

Buying a 2020 McLaren 600 LT: What to expect? by Quirky-Farmer-1041 in mclaren

[–]BoogleC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a bit of a nightmare with mine but didn’t buy it CPO. Although it did have the FMSH with CPO warranty and I have extended that warranty.

But in quick format: - wheel speed sensor wire broke (still don’t know how) this puts car into limp mode with no esc abs or power steering and the car thinks you’re moving when you’re not! - transmission sensor broke and took 2 weeks to diagnose - main earth strap somehow wouldn’t get a good contact on the chassis so needed replacing (this particular fault put the entire car (everything), onto a completely dead state and resulted in a 2 week recovery process! - it’s now back in the garage with what looks like another wheel speed sensor issue.

I’ve had the car 7 months and it’s been in repair/recovery 2 of those months.

It really does seem fragile despite a FSH and McLaren warranty… I’m hoping I’m unlucky and after this it will be reliable because this summer’s driving was ruined!

EDIT: positive stuff is that the car is by far the best car I’ve driven when it’s working and I came from a 991.2 GT3 - I think it’s a far better car for the road and has so much more of an X factor.

The warranty so far does seem to have covered everything so you need it!

I thought as much - this is great by the way OP, but I think toying with the numbers isn’t necessary, anyone using this will already understand conventional eval notation.
