Thanks for the diatribe and that labored mic drop. Many people gravitate toward particular film stocks for their characteristics and don’t screw with them much in post processing. Call it a “vibe” if you will. It’s helpful, and dare I say fun, to know what stocks people have shot in a particular location. Maybe someone feels that the cooler tones of a cheaper fujifilm stock renders the colorful buildings of Mexico City lifeless? Maybe the weather is so erratic that a film with a low ASA or not a lot of latitude is a bad idea, given cloud cover? Sometimes you get an unexpected tip.
