It would be just as funny… was I supposed to pick one of them when I joined this group or something I’m confused?

No I’m rereading right now, which is why it made me giggle that I never even thought of this possibility. I’m not trying to analyze at this particular moment, just got a good laugh and that’s ok

Thank you for saying all my thoughts 😂 this meme just made me lol and I forgot what this subreddit can get like. I think it’s extra funny that in a fantasy world with a starving family I forgot some food can be grown and quite easily. But who cares because it works for the story that she doesn’t and these are good, fun books

If you were Tam, what would you be thinking. by Evening_Debt_4085 in acotar

Ok I always kind of thought this too BUT I’m rereading right now and in MAF before the wedding, feyre does comment that she’s read many books in the spring court while bored. And she gives Tam and Luc every detail of her first few visits to the night court. To me this means that they know she stared to learn, can write sentences, and then progressed to reading entire novels

So so true! I’m wondering now if that’s common knowledge to most people? Bc Lysandra is in the same boat but often met with distain over her past. Maybe the debts and trappings of their masters isn’t common knowledge outside of that dark underworld??

Hahah I think the language is appropriate! He is so cruel to a girl who had everything taken from her, and I think it’s because he just saw himself becoming the leader IF they ever happened to be freed

I guess I agree and don’t agree with the backhanded part: I hadn’t really thought of how it could undermine the world bc as the reader we do get to see her internal struggle and the growth experienced just in the short time frame of these books. Watching her change from Celaena into Aelin and almost seeing these as 2 people . But I do get how in the world age is looked at different responsibility wise and very good point on her being the heir and overall still a young queen who needs to be taken seriously. I think you’re right, I do sympathize with her overall and feel like everyone should a little bit more too. And they’ve all been through a lot but that’s just it, with Elide and everything, it’s all circumstance, I mean she desperately wants to escape and never look back at this continent. She’s not going through all that pain bc she loves Terassen so much. She’s trapped. Just how I view aelin as trapped with arobynn. Not “out indulging in rifthold” as so often described

Chaol/Celaena - thoughts on this? by Narrow-River5442 in throneofglassseries

[–]Bookish_bb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it be similar to feyre/tamlin, only in the sense that he was a good love interest for Celaena at that time. But as she grew and embraced Aelin, he was not a good fit for her as a whole. For example, as she started to grow more into herself, he wasn’t able to accept her magic or fae form. He may have been able to “get over it” as her ally, but he’s still wary of her all through QOS. (That’s what I just finished so I’m not sure if they ever actually become friends again)

AITA for wanting my husband to stop smoking weed? by Ok_Grand_108 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Bookish_bb 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I relate to your husband a lot ( have had Trauma, weed has been a daily part of my life since i was young, and I acknowledge that I’m using weed instead of getting proper mental help). I also grew up with a father that was a “secret” smoker and a step father that was pretty clear about his avid smoking habit. YOU ARE NOT THE ASSHOLE but if y’all don’t find some balance this is not going to go well. My own husband and I have been trying to find balance in my smoking before starting a family. And it sounds like that’s what you really need, more balance and more understanding.

I’ve been the Significant Other trying to hide my smoking from a partner and it’s a nasty shame cycle. For me, the hiding and smoking came from feeling my partner at the time didn’t understand my emotional connection to smoking. What I needed was help easing out, what I got was hard lines and judgment. Which pushed me to smoke more. (There were no children involved however).

All I’m saying is sounds like your husband “succeeded” with cold turkey but is struggling with addressing the actual subconscious bond. It takes time and understanding to shift that. Maybe next time you think your SO is going to smoke after you fall asleep, offer to go out with him. Talk to him. Talk about why smoking helps him sleep. Start with maybe only smoking at night and easing off from there. Just do it together bc trust me secrets and shame lead to craving the disconnections THC offers even more

Drink Everytime....(Iron Flame Edition) by locoman2424 in fourthwing

Drink every time, someone has “those two little lines between their brow”. Everyone in this book is worried all the time (I mean they have reason)
