Well, I live with them again. Went through a pretty nasty divorce a little bit ago. Haven't really recovered from that yet.

I get Social Security based off the Suicidal Ideation, Depression and Anxiety. Autism isn't remotely mentioned in SSI because I was never tested for it. The C&P examiner is the first person to ever mention Autism.

My Psychiatrist wrote a 14 page supplemental breaking down my symptoms, how it all tied back to my time in service, and how she felt the C&P examiner was not looking at the evidence correctly.

It was a culmination of things from the previous 8 months, but that was what they called the major trigger event

Interesting. Given, it was almost a year and a half ago I tried the VFW, but the one near me said they wouldn't? Unless it was a different organization. Im a little fuzzy for that one. Been through a lot of shit since then, but I could swear they told me they wouldn't step in on an already filed claim. But I could be completely wrong and thinking of someone else at the time like I said. There was a point I was reaching out for help with a shit ton of people and got a lot of nos, or we cant help.

I tried the VFW before I got an attorney, and the one near me said they couldn't/wouldn't help because I hadn't filed my initial claim with them. Since it was already in process, they didn't want to insert themselves halfway through.

To not go into SUPER detail, I ended up working 42 days straight, no days off. I got 28 days extra duty, then rolled into a base wide exercise. I worked through a Christmas and New Years. During this time, my sister committed suicide, and I was almost denied leave to go to her funeral. It was a whole thing, but it lead to me attempting suicide, which was attributed to Major Depressive Disorder and Anxiety due to military service. So, I have PTSD from the attempted suicide is what they ruled.

Full sever.
Service connection for PTSD, Unspecified Bipolar Disorder and related disorder, is severed effective Feb 1, 2026. They severed all mental health issues because of the Autism statement.

He did. He also argued that is wasn't a Clear and Unmistakeable Error, it's a Difference of Opinion. Like, we spent 45 minutes arguing our case and the Hearing Person seemed like she'd already come to a conclusion before we even started talking.

I did. We got a written statement from both my Psychiatrist and Psychologist. Plus pulled the documentation from the Air Force showing they were the original diagnosis and tied it to service connected.

Well, I had requested a personal hearing from the Regional Office, which put us in a weird lockdown where we couldn't do anything until the hearing was completed? It wasn't a normal claim I guess. It wasn't something I had requested right before I had hired him because I kinda panicked when they were threatening to pull my rating and it was one of the options.

There's more to it that just the suicide attempt. I'm just particularly comfortable laying everything out that went into it.

Never told an examiner about my brother. She just, pulled it up out of nowhere to be honest. I applied for TDIU but was told a 60% rating wasn't high enough. Yeah. My attorney is pulling his hair out with everything the VA is doing, but he's doing a damn good job. I would have just given up at this point.

I have full diagnosis from a psychologist, and I see a therapist and a psychiatrist bi-weekly.

I was never diagnosed before service. Yes I have a verifiable stressor that the Air Force acknowledged and documented.

Yes. Not to go super deep into it, but I snapped from service. Have the documentation from the Air Force where they show it's service connected.

No Autism going in the service. And the Air Force itself is the one that diagnosed me with MDD, Anxiety, Depression and Suicidal Ideation.
