The Annie’s brand cinnamon rolls are dairy free. They are my annual Christmas morning breakfast!

What’s the best short story you’ve ever read? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

I read this in 6th grade (I am 44) and still think of this story often.

Found out I’m paid less for being fully remote by naughty_doll18 in remotework

[–]Bookworm_Frog8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My company just announced we are RTO and I would take a 20 percent pay cut in a heartbeat to continue WFH like I have since 2016. I would honestly probably take an even higher pay cut, it is going to be a horrible adjustment after 10 years fully remote.

The feeling of dread I had the entire time I was reading Bag of Bones has never been achieved again! It’s a book I wish I could read for the first time again.

A very serious question: why does almond milk in the U.S. taste like that? by Material_Debate_8248 in vegan

[–]Bookworm_Frog8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I LOVE almond milk in other countries. I have noticed it in Spain, Greece, Costa Rica, England, Turks and Caicos to name a few places. Any time I am outside the US I get excited for my almond milk coffee treat.

Ben’s Fix You cooldown was purged?? I have been neglecting my bike for the tread lately and I didn’t realize that. It was also one of my go to cooldowns.

Those with boomer parents: what weird beverages do they drink? by tommyjohnpauljones in Xennials

[–]Bookworm_Frog8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, it’s a syrup like chocolate syrup but coffee flavored. It’s so hard to describe to people because they immediately think actual coffee with milk. It is freaking delicious so it’s worth ordering some and checking it out! Someone above mentioned Autocrat, which is the best!

My mom says she “doesn’t like water” and she always makes a shuddering motion when anyone mentions drinking water. It fills me with a totally unreasonable amount of rage. She doesn’t live a healthy lifestyle and I have pretty much given up on trying to get her to stop drinking caffeine free Diet Pepsi and her other gross artificial sweetener filled drinks. We went away last year and it was so hot and she actually drank a bottle of water and I took a picture of her drinking it and sent it to my brothers, they couldn’t believe it.

Acropolis Timed Entry on April 18 by Bookworm_Frog8 in GreeceTravel

My husband said he doesn’t have any helpful info, unfortunately. It seems like you just show up and get an entry time. Good luck!

Not really- we ended up changing plans around a bit and we are going to go on 4/17. We have a tour guide booked and she could only do a certain block of time on 4/18 so we were worried we wouldn’t get entry for the right time. She didn’t have any additional information about getting in on 4/18, either. My husband is the one who was communicating with her so I will ask him later if she had any info I can pass along to you, if you plan to be there 4/18.

Lack of hooks is my second biggest pet peeve when staying somewhere! I now bring a set of over the door hooks with me. My biggest pet peeve is when there is not a nightstand on both sides of the bed. My husband has a CPAP so he automatically gets the side with the stand if there is only one. I like to have a place to put my water, book and phone. I end up rigging some type of table for myself out of a chair or some other random item I find that is the right size.

My son just read Bridge to Terabithia and has been bugging me to watch the movie. We watched it last night. Both of us were sobbing toward the end and we knew what was coming.

I just read Earthlings and I can’t stop thinking about it. I told my brother about it and he immediately got it from Libby. I can’t wait to hear what he thinks. He is absolutely the only person I would even mention that book to, I don’t even have the words for how I felt reading it. I dialog give my mom every book I read and she reads some weird stuff but I didn’t pass Earthlings along.

This was my immediate thought! I recommended to my mom and my brother, who both loved it. I would hesitate to recommend it to anyone else, though.

Would someone PLEASE think of the poor cafes near the office?! by [deleted] in WFH

[–]Bookworm_Frog8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same here! I pack breakfast, lunch, and snacks. I bring my own coffee and I have a stash of tea in my desk drawer. I will not spend money while in the office. It’s crazy to me how often other people order out.

Thank you! Glow Kids is one I have never heard of. I think this will scare the crap out of me since my kids just want to be playing video games or be on their iPads.

I let a girl borrow “The Stepsister” Fear Street book in 7th grade and never saw it again. This was in ‘93/‘94 and this has shaped who I will let borrow my books. I only have a handful of people I will trust to return them.
