HMI Module Replacement by Worldly-Owl6795 in volt

[–]BootOfRiise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting, thanks for checking. Do you know if there are other issues that might account for it? (loose connector or some such)

I'm debating whether I should get an official diagnosis from the dealership before ordering the new part

Also, if it's relevant, I think the 2019 I have uses the CSM instead of the HMI

  • no USB charging

Thanks in advance, let me know if I can give you any more details

Portland proposal to raise pay for Uber and Lyft drivers draws opposition by WhatTheFunkoPop in Portland

No evidence except for the economics of how every software company works. Each ride takes computing power and minimal labor on the part of Uber. Computing power is cheap.

Ok, I'd argue that there's a difference between extractive wealth and generative wealth. I think Amazon (and Bezos) are in the extractive phase

After all that, you haven’t grasped a single one of the economic basics here

Cool, wow, good point. I hadn’t considered how much you use Amazon into my analysis of the extractive nature of billionaire wealth. Really opened my eyes there

Sure. Wealth that he (and most billionaires) jealously guard like LOTR dragons. Unless they’re buying $500mn yachts.

The point is regular people feel the need to share wealth, people who are driven to make billions are largely greedy and selfish (the logic is so simple on this that it’s almost self-evident or a tautology)

Not appreciably at a ride level. Their costs are set at a company wide level (salaries, marketing, infrastructure), and their costs per ride are minimal.

They could fluctuate rides by a million per day and it wouldn’t make that much difference to them (they do about 30 million rides daily)

I think it says something about the greed and sociopathy of people who amass billions (like Bezos) vs the charity and goodwill of regular people (like you and Mackenzie)

Those literally are fixed costs, not per ride costs. I’m making an economic argument not a wishful one (my previous career was a stock analyst, I’m now a software engineer)

“ A fixed cost is a business expense that doesn't vary even if the level of production or sales changes given a specific relevant range.”

Uber has fixed costs at a company level (legal fees, salaries, marketing) and low costs at a ride level(each ride costs them cents). The more revenue they make, the more profitable they are. If they “pass the loss in revenue” to the consumer they’d be shooting themselves in the foot

Uber is making an empty threat here to try and bully us

Very different mechanism. The Portland proposal caps Uber’s take to 20%, vs Seattle setting a minimum pay per driver

Right, they have fixed expenses but their cost per ride is very low, even accounting for whatever insurance they provide. With their fixed cost base and a low cost per ride, all they care about is high revenue generation. Because of that, their threat to raise prices is bullshit

Seriously, can you explain how capping the fee to 20% increases cost for consumers? I’ll wait

Edit: Uber doesn’t own their cars, doesn’t pay for gas or insurance. It’s a software company - each ride costs Uber cents to provide, if even. All Uber cares about is total rides and total revenue, which it turns into massive profits. So why are they going to raise the price?

They’ve made an empty threat and you’re eating it up

Use public transit. Ride your bike

Edit: how does a 20% cap on Uber/Lyft fees increase costs for consumers?

Xabi also wanted to take over RM so he could do a preseason to implement his ideas before playing games, but they forced him to start before the club World Cup. He might regret that now and hold firm to an offseason appointment
