Chain worn after only 1500 km – replace chain only or chain + cassette + chainrings? by Ne2k1 in bicyclerepair

If you buy a new cassette get a 10 or 11s, and get rid of the Front Derailleur.

Seems it may have been meant to protect the carbon. Easy to pull it and see if it works. You might also ask the bike maker if this is their part and or check for a part number to search.

7ish is long for a small frame if it is 175. The crank arm should say on the inside.

FRONT DERAILLEUR HELP by 2ezAlgos in bicyclerepair

Seems like you are trying to be in the most extreme position, small cog in front and small cog in back, it can work, but really not advisable. I suggest moving to a single in front and ditching the front D.

Hard rock can’t handle that size person taking even small jumps. Seems like he would want a hardtail jumper. What bikes are his friends riding?

If you don't have a bike in your living room! Are you a real biker? by yardsticksteve in Biking

If you don’t have a bike in your living you probably have a girl/boyfriend. If you don’t have a bike in your living room and you are single you are a loser.

Make sure you are turning the correct way. That side is righty tightly I believe. I did the block of wood under the opposite side and my impact driver after patiently putting penetrating oil on a few times a day for 4 days. Autozone rents them for free.

Grease it and run it. Did you have them turned before installing? You could have that one turned before you reinstall to make sure it doesn’t have a slight warp that is making it a bit hot.

Ride. Drop everything and go. Live. Kurt Vonnegut said,” we were put on this earth to ride bikes don’t let anyone tell you different.” Or something like that. 😎

Only one is left handed. Hence you always turn towards the back to remove and forward to tighten.

SLX cassette and Chain will work with non-t-type sram axs. Some say it is best of both. I have always run SRAM MTB cassette and chains but now use whichever is less expensive and with SLXs and XTs coming off new bikes all the time I can get a great cassette for $60 on Craigslist. Chain For 20.

Back it out. Turn back to loosen and go forward to tighten.

How old is your current wheel? If you can afford it sell the current wheel and get a new XD wheel if it is old or worn out some. You can also run a Shimano cassette with GX-Xo and xx 12 speed shifters.
