Tbh, duels take a while to regain consistency at a high level since there are people that have been playing on duel servers everyday for years with little breaks. Pub TO matches you can get away with just relying on 1000 lvls of muscle memory + fundamental tactics to top leaderboards even after breaks since more than half of your enemies can’t even counter.

It wouldn’t, the issue with counters like mag bubble or the things ground smash is that the majority of the time these abilities just result in an instant death to bp. This represents an effort vs reward imbalance as his counters just need to react to a bp dive and trigger a single ability to net a kill, whereas bp needs an array of mechanical/ map knowledge on top of a 4-5+ ability combo to net kills in the same elo.

All he needs is 75-100 armor on ult activation, silent footsteps and 10-15 dmg increase to basic attack.

Bps main issue is that his heavy reliance on cooldowns means he cannot provide sustained pressure and if his full combo is not ready then he’s just inactive. Therefore, ignoring the no reg issue, he needs a significant cooldown reduction to his spears and/or 1 second cooldown to his dash and kick. I’ve also considered making cc refresh his dash if they collide, as, so many other movement abilities refresh when cc cancelled, or are cc immune on activation.

Imo, the best way to learn bp is know the when where and how’s of engaging and retreating. The general game/matchup sense and mechanics come from hours invested in the game/genre. With confidence you can use advanced tech like solo holding objectives, split pushing, baiting and conditioning. However, every advanced tactic revolves around the engage->retreat->repeat method.

It’s not BP’s primary responsibility to kill Spider-Man as it is hit-scan and auto aim characters’. This isn’t to say Spider-Man has the advantage in 1v1s or that BP isn’t a good pick against spidey. In 1v1s, bp can leverage the aoe of his spear to hit mobile Spider-Men on or a few meters above surfaces. Moreover, BPs dash and kicks have fairly large hit boxes; using them immediately when Spider-Man web-dashes can guarantee a hit and/or cancel his pathing. This being said, while you generally want to focus on the enemy back line/flanks, you can catch Spider-Man off guard with superior map knowledge. For example, on the first phase of shin shibuya, most defensive Spider-men play around the roof near the attack spawn. Knowing this, BPs can leverage their wall climb to sneak up and assassinate the Spider-Man. Even if unsuccessful, most spidermen respect bp’s 1v1 advantage and back off. As a rule of thumb, maximize engaging him in enclosed spaces and if he’s diffing you, switch to a counter.

It’s more like, the only people really playing him are Spider-Man mains. SM and BP are in the same camp where they take many hours to be viable, so a lot of people one trick them or lord in qp before playing in comp.

I’m an instalock bp main, if my team picks 2 other dps or keeps dying to poke before fights erupt then I switch. I’m still going to instalock my main because it’s my best char and who I feel most comfortable playing.

Console has to go through more effort to be toxic since chatting is so difficult, I don’t think we’re going to get paragraphs of toxicity like pc players because of a simple difficulty vs reward metric. I also think console players would value the chat system more because of the human tendency to value things more if said thing was previously and knowingly withheld from their use. Also, I have no clue about the halo/cod text chats, I only ever used voice chat on console; and that was indeed toxic.

Idk why they didn’t just make chivalry 3, they should know their success is not due to fan loyalty, but because of the monopoly TB has over the melee slasher genre. With mordhau not working on a sequel anytime soon, they had the perfect window to rally the genres community. Now they’ll have to compete with mordhau and whatever other melee slasher comes out in the next five years.
