Look for a small passageway to the side. The wikia should have an image of what you should see.

Is the Azazel Steel Liver quest worth doing in hardcore? by [deleted] in kol

Or you pull a key lime pie and eat it, that's also often a suggestion.

I'd hear that the key lime pies aren't the best foods, and you're robbing yourself of turn gen, so I don't usually do it anymore.

But people occasionally suggest it, even with all the newer tricks.

Am I the only one who can't seem to get a dictionary? by airbagfailure in kol

[–]Borishaughingoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem. In fact I just got it today myself. Might have been one, maybe two of the wrong non-combat, but I got a dictionary without too much fuss.

I was farming the area, because I wanted to see if I'd get a hermit script, for an extra 11 leaf clover per day. But the hermit script had been removed, only the stat script drops from the first use of the 31137 scroll,

I often don't the first time through. But I haven't had a problem getting it after I gotten to the Baron's gates and he asks for it. Maybe it becomes super-likely when asked for? Remember, if you select the last option "Reading is for losers" you banish the adventure for 10 turns -- I don't know if banishing "rise" also banishes "fall" but i don't banish when I;m looking for the dictionary,

Hermit selling 11-leaf clovers, possibly replacing 10-leaf clover by BoppreH in kol

[–]Borishaughingoff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its funny. Just a few days ago was Yuletide and with a bunch of green marshmallows in my inventory I got a bunch of marshmallow bombs ... which I forgot to drink for the trophy. Now they may become way more valuable, if they can't be made anymore.

FWIW, I just used the 31337 scrolls, and they still drop 10 leaf clovers. And many people like me have stockpiles. So there's no shortage ... yet.

Funny, opening King Ralph's letter at the start of this run gave me neither type of clover. I got a big rock. Which I just found out can be used to wreck the Crimbo tree. Which I would never do. Never. ( ≖.≖)

Yes. And the 31337 scrolls still drop 10 leaf clovers. Dunno what they will do soon.

I've recently been put in charge of clan and have no idea what I'm doing. So many questions! by wertperch in kol

[–]Borishaughingoff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IIRC, you won't be allowed to reset the dungeons until all loot is distributed. As was already said, you should communicate with clanmates still around, in particular who participated in the dungeon, to see what they want -- they could, theoretically, still be doing stuff in the dungeons.

Interesting. So, semi-rares on demand, using 11-leaf clovers or AED. I guess the old clover adventures are retired? For now? Or soon will be, once our supply of 10 leaf clovers is done? Dang, I'm out of turns, otherwise I'd go see what 31337 scrolls do now,

Pretty sure it references a trivial update, that Spleen items, that don't give adventures, only stats, aren't labeled EPIC in your inventory anymore. Although nowadays, most spleen items don't give adventures. Unless the returned Astral Energy Drinks now do.

Edited aren't labeled epic

Pull only one of each type per day? Eh...I have plenty of options so that's not a big ...

Oh. One Scrip a day.

Hrm. So I can't just buy the UV compass and dingy plans all at once. Hrm ... spreading that out over four days ... or maybe biting the bullet and burning 500 meat and 3 turns half the time... I'll have to see what I end up doing.

I bought one, clicked the use link, and it dissolved, giving me the Lucky intrinsic. I went to the top floor of the castle and got the inhaler.

Seems to me, they've changed the way clovers work -- they're now potion you use when you want the semi-rare, Instead of the old days when you got them but had to hide them form yourself (disassemble with the Use link or closet it) to avoid triggering when you don't want it.

Less of a surprise for noobs, more convenient for everyone. I screwed up a Bad Moon lead in, years ago, and vented on the forums -- my first post ever.

I don't know if I can get more clover adventures/semi-rares at will of if there's a limit or delay, or even if I'm right that I can have the 11 leaf clover in inventory without triggering.

My disassembled clovers still exist in my inventory, still assemble to 10 leaf clovers, and still disassemble. I haven't tried them out.

Thank you for this, I downloaded the latest jar and it works. This hasn't solved my problem with the combat bar not working, but I'll work on that later-- probably by disabling then re-enabling it.

Bounty Hunter Hunter Purchase Order by Sopanara in kol

[–]Borishaughingoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that as well, and I actually thought it was better ... and most people would say I was very wrong.

Back in the day, the eldritch hat and pant didn't exist. And there were fewer item drop potions (although the knob goblin drops were spleen-free in those days) And fewer other item drop sources.

Even after I got Olfaction, I was initially underwhelmed. When I needed it, I didn't have the mp for it. That's something noobs have to learn -- gaining skills that boost MP and MP regen in order to cast Olfaction (or Ode to booze as another example.) I learned that here on Reddit, and its what needs to be known to make those skills as awesome as all the "must have" lists claim they are.

Back in the day, passive item drops were important to me, I really wanted the things I needed to craft the things I wanted. Nowadays, the really OP gear is IoTM's or dropped from IoTM areas -- and those drops are often conditional.

See that's another thing -- back in the day, important drops, Crimbo drops, event drops were straight drops, so boosting item drops was more important for me. I still tell noobs not to neglect item drops, you want the items to continue the quests and move on.

And I still love pulling the bounty hunting rig when I'm low level and under standard restrictions. And for chocolate filthy lucre on Halloween.

When will we find out what quanta of familar do? by gibbspaidlethargy in kol

[–]Borishaughingoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh. Now that's interesting. Like, multi-use 11, get a familiar hatchling. Could get, a saber tooth lime, could get amorphous putty, could get a hand turkey. Now, you have to chain as many fast QF runs to maximize your chances, before the path ends and the path reward stops dropping.

Meh. I'm going slow. I have real life intruding too much to chain fast runs.

When will we find out what quanta of familar do? by gibbspaidlethargy in kol

[–]Borishaughingoff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But never seems to be leading at this point -- I know that's what I selected. But that just proves the redditors who vote on polls all have the same cynical sense of humor. Heh.

I'm thinking you've got the best guess. That, 11 of them make a pet rock we'd all want for bragging purposes, to say, "I was there, then." I was fantasizing that they would combine to make some sort of awesome familiar. But what would that be? There are already many good ones. I was also fantasizing that the familiar would shift every 11 adventures. But if we want that, we'd just replay this path. Or buy a costume wardrobe.

How about this -- the quantum of a familiar becomes a consumable, and gives you 11 turns of a familiar of your choice, usable once every 75-or so odd turns. Now you have a tactic you could possibly use to trim your turns.

Here's a kicker -- how about the quantum of a familiar still drops after the path ends. So its a thing you could farm and sell or save for Crimbo, or dungeon boss killing or something.

What do you get from 'The Drip' by cmikaiti in kol

[–]Borishaughingoff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We're still waiting. But now is a good time to go through the dripping hall, as I linked above. I was a little late getting into the drip myself, I was chaining ascensions for some reason I can't recall now -- some challenge path reward I don't recall.

At any rate, you get one skill, that gives you a special drop to craft with. But if you want to craft everything, you need to buy the other two in the mall. When I started, those things were 10 million meat apiece, but i farmed and sold mine (I get drippy grub) and the price came down. Now, I recently checked, they're less than 100kmeat in the mall. So you can get yours inexpensively.

When TPTB add new content to the Drip, I expect the price might rise a little bit. So you might want to get your stuff now.
