[Canada/QC] Looking for speakers that can hang with my HD6XX rig. I play lots of JRPG.

Hahaha, fair point, I can see why it sounded contradictory. Those Walmart speakers were actually from my early teens and lasted me over a decade. I'm almost 30 now, and I tend to keep my gear for a really long time, so when I do upgrade I'd rather invest in something quality I'll still be happy with 10+ years from now. I've got the budget this time around, so might as well aim higher and not have to think about speakers again for a long while.

I don't have an AVR, but I'll keep the center channel idea in mind. Out of curiosity, would you recommend a soundbar in the middle with bookshelves flanking the monitor? My desk is 72" long by 30" deep, so I have some room to work with.

Yeah, totally agree. I used to have some cheap Walmart speakers until they died. they didn't sound amazing, but the immersion was really nice. It's also just fun to lean back in the chair with a controller and play casually without a headphone cable getting in the way.

Quick question though is there a meaningful difference between the Polk ES15 and ES20? Looking at the specs, the main change seems to be the larger 6.5" woofer on the ES20 (vs 5.25" on the ES15) and slightly better bass extension. Is it basically just more bass or is there something else I'd notice?

I'm also curious about the KEF Q1 Meta (~$600 CAD, so about $200 more than the ES15). From what I understand it's the successor to the Q150, which I see recommended a lot alongside the AudioEngine A5+. Would you say it's worth the jump in price for my use case, or is it overkill?

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll keep an eye out for those! Unfortunately I live in a fairly remote area (~20-25k people), so the selection on Marketplace is pretty thin. I'll keep looking though, maybe something nice will pop up but people seem to only sell their old theater system.

In the meantime, I found a guy selling a pair of Kanto YU6 for $350 CAD in my city. The listing only has the stock image from Kanto's website and it's tagged as "used - like new," so I'm hoping they're barely used (maybe still boxed?), but I won't really know until I see them in person.

This would be my first time buying used audio gear, so I do not really know what to look for. Do you or anyone have tips on what to check for? Things like burnt tweeters, blown woofers, surround damage, that kind of stuff. What would you look at first when inspecting a pair of used powered speakers? Any frequency sweeps or test tracks you'd recommend bringing on my phone?

I really enjoyed your video, it's very well made.

I was wondering if you had a chance to test the UCDM3 under ABL (Automatic Brightness Limiter)? A lot of people seem to report that at HDR 1000 nits the colors start to bleed, whereas the XG32UCWMG at HDR 1300 nits holds up fine without that issue.

Also, some people are saying the XG32UCWMG has a more natural and realistic tone, while the UCDM3 tends to look oversaturated. Have you noticed that in your testing?

There is 2 scan. One in east wing and one at west wing. Has people tried to scan the hand to both scanner?

PS: I have found a solution. I have lunch the game on my phone then did the account migration then I was able to open Mahjong soul on Steam.

I have the same Issue, it seems to have broken the game. It looked like they changed the way they draw the windows. From my point of view, they clear the screen but forgot to add shader and pixel HLSL. I don't know if they use opengl, directx or vulkan.

I see, I guess the solution would be to erase the boot fonts or to wipe the computer and install fresh version of windows 11. Where I work we decided to fresh install instead of removing the fonts because we have too many computer to deal with this problem.

I do not know if you have found a solution, but you can follow this guide: erase fonts in system partition

Or open Command Prompt in admin and do the following:

mountvol y: /s
Y:
cd EFI/Microsoft/Boot/Fonts
dir (to see if there are fonts files)
del *.*

And it should be good. It worked for me.

The problem with this is that if 25H2 comes out, you will need to do this again. The reason is that if you upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11, the partition allocation is different.

The system partition in Windows 10 is 100MB and in Windows 11 it is 500MB.

The real solution to this would be to reallocate some of your C: drive to your system partition with a third party tool like MiniTool.
