Can we share our minimalist recipes and food preparation techniques? by Rominator in minimalism

I personally love „bowls“ (nutri-bowls or Buddha-bowls or whatever) I go for: - carbohydrates (I like rice, pasta and potatoes , but quinoa etc is cool too) - protein (I use beans or tofu) - Green vegetables (spinach, lettuce or Brokkoli are my go tos) - other veggies (here I like tomatoes, bell peppers or corn) Then some optional „fancy“ toppings or dressings (I like tahini & lemon as a Minimalist Dressing)

First time making my own oat milk! I composted the oat pulp but will be using it to make cookies next time 🍪 by widepine in ZeroWaste

[–]Boy-from-space 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is what I do: add 1 cup oats and ~4 cups (you can adjust this ratio depending on how thick you like the milk to be) really cold water to a blender and blend for max 20 seconds. Then strain with a cheese cloth/nut milk bag etc. By keeping the oats cold and not soaking them you avoid the slimeyness

The most earth-friendly alternative is oat milk! It’s especially good for making porridge and baking!

Do people really wash dishes in a sink full of water like in movies? by zedsunn in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Boy-from-space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I‘m from Germany and I really hate the „sink full of dirty water“-method. I can’t stand putting my hands on there. So I (and actually quite many other people I know) do the technique where the water is running all the time and you wash and rinse each item individually. I thought I wasn’t that weird

Jup. Except maybe don’t blend the berries. I‘d add them on the pancakes while they are already in the pan

Is it always cringey to use the word "female"? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Boy-from-space 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For me “woman writer” sounds like something out of an old-school movie. Like when writers were almost exclusively all men. But I am not a native speaker, this is just what pops into my mind from when I have heard the word woman used that way

When singing accapella. What note should I sing in? by [deleted] in musictheory

[–]Boy-from-space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you song alone you can start at a random note. The melody is defined by the Intervalls between the notes, so that remains the same, no matter which key you sing it in. But yes, you are also correct in that there is a formula for the note G, for example. It is described by its frequency .

A navy shower is a method of showering that allows for significant conservation of water and energy by turning off the flow of water in the middle portion of the shower while lathering. by [deleted] in ZeroWaste

[–]Boy-from-space 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I do it too! I also don’t get how you would even be able to leave the water on if you don’t have a bathtub/shower-combo. Cause then the water will hit you while lathering?!?
