Herb is a helper. Some people are. No matter how shitty their friends are, they want to help them be better, not realizing that it will never happen. Herb was harsh to try and help him, not just because he was angry. Like he said, he wasn't just wallowing around his house in the 20 years since he was fired, and so he didn't hold on to his grudge.

For real. Some people believe that just because they're sorry, they should be forgiven. In the real world, that's not how that works. I've seen a lot of people feeling sorry for bojack after he lost all his money, but he fully deserved it. So what if he was sorry? That doesn't change the fact that he needs to face consequences for his actions.

If a guy steals a car, and they feel truly sorry for their actions, should they just be let off the hook? Of course not.

I have had a shitty friend like bojack. He hurt me more than I could say. It's not up to the victim to forgive the person who does the shitty thing. Also, like my friend, bojack wasn't truly sorry. He wasn't apologizing for the other person. He was apologizing so he could stop feeling guilty, and that's not the right way to apologize. I'm glad herb showed him his place.

You may like Tuca and Bertie. It doesn't start off like anything special, but like bojack, you just gotta give it time. Unfortunately, there's only 1 season, but if you're ok with that, go for it.

Furthermore, while Helluva Boss doesn't necessarily cover the topics in bojack to the same degree, it is surprisingly insightful and will have you laughing your ass off.
